When I was doing my apprenticeship I heard about a guy at a local engineering place who used a blow torch a lot. He could cut some half inch plate steel then pick the lump up and take it to a table 15 meters away. Most people would burn their hands. What I can't understand is people who can taste stuff still boiling hot. My uncle could literally pour tea then drink it 20 seconds later.

We need a full TV series of Gordon teaching us how to cook delicious dishes, Hells Kitchen and Nightmare kitchen are great, but IMO Gordon is at his best when cooking and teaching like this.

Love the fact you cook with your children. I spend all I can with my kids teaching them everything from how to handle a knife, cutting, cooking, prepping. And it doesn't stop there, science, DIY, maths and more.... You just never stop learning.... Coming from a family where your father always said NO.... Well, I've become known as the YES man. Everyone should get involved in cooking.... We cannot live without it, so the more knowledge / understanding / basics of cooking they have, what a better way to enjoy food. :)

Ethan Chen no he's really only hard on chef that compete in Hell's Kitchen since they're supposed to be professionals and he's getting them ready to deal with the stress of being a head chef. On Masterchef he's not that hard on the contestants because they're amateur home cookers.

Not surprised, you seem dense.

Are all these people claiming undercooked trolls? Or some are just that stupid? If anything, this is a bit overcooked. There is zero blood in the meat. The red is just myoglobin. The red has no flavor, it's just coloring. Any dislike for it is just in your head. You have a pretty weak mind if you can't overcome that. You are supposed to train yourself to like rarer meat. No, I didn't like rare meat when I was a little kid, but did eventually. My mind is stronger then my body. There is no ecoli on the inside of the meat, and in this case, probably none on the outside either. Anyways, the outside is cooked. Even if there were ecoli in there, unless it's the very bad strain or you are immunocomprised, you'd be just fine. People do sometimes eat beef totally raw and nothing bad happens to them. It's literally all in your mind. You are really missing out and really wasting a lot of money.

You are lucky to have been raised that way. I had to work my way up over 10 years. One time I got sick right after eating an undercooked pork chop. It wasn't food poisoning, it was norovirus. I know this because lots of people I was close with got sick either a bit before or a bit after that. So not related at all.

It's the psycho OCD American mindset where you fear everything that could kill you even if it's statistically improbable. That's why the US has a serious case of bacteria that are immune to all antibiotics. Medium rare is delicious and the way you're supposed to eat cuts like filet mignon. I couldn't imagine someone ordering filet mignon well done. I would slightly die inside if I heard that.

That's a ribeye, fit for a king. And it's cooked beautifully. Wife and daughter don't bother to argue, neither disagree. Notice how he serves himself first and when he first cuts the roast beef, he says a big slice for daddy.
