I got arrested drunk for smoking a joint in the park and while I was in the paddy (sorry?) wagon with some other recently picked up arrestees and on the way to the precinct we noticed that the van, driven by an enormously fat corrections officer, was standing still idling for several minutes. I managed to sneak a peak through a slit in the back doors and saw that we were in a Wendy's drive-thru. I had a fair amount of cash on me and we started yelling orders to the officer through the partition, and I offered to pay for everybody in the van's meals. He went through the whole routine of how we were arrested and jail wasn't a holiday and so forth, but after creeping through incrementally and completing the drive -thru mission, he pulled aside in the parking lot, unlocked the back doors and threw in three bags of food, sticking out his other hand for my money. We had to eat all slouched and bent over since our hands were chained to the metal van floor, but it was still the best meal I ate for three months.

When i got into some sort of disciplinary trouble in middle school one year, my punishment was to remove all the gum from the school hallway's tight pile carpets using an aerosol refrigerant in a can that would freeze the gum solid so I could chip it out of the carpets with a chisel and five-in-one painter's tool. Nasty, but I didn't mind so much as I was alone and unsupervised, perfect conditions for more mischief...

My mom used to remove ice cubes from the tray by dampening her fingertip and letting the freezing water adhere it to her finger so she could move over and drop it in our tea glasses. It looked cool and for the short life of me I couldn't figure out how she did it. No matter how much I asked her to show me how to do it too, she just kept insisting it was 'magic'. It still pisses me off. My dad told me that 'grits' grew on trees and had to be individually hand picked.

its interesting. when I first heard colum I couldnt stand listening to him because his accent was so strong years ago. but as ive grown used to his accent and as hes been here longer and his accent has dulled, I find that whenever I see his name, im clicking right away hes always a solid guest on any pod
