The point of playing with water in the solo cups instead of beer is so you don't have to keep cleaning the ping pong ball off everytime it hits the dirty floor.... so much easier and way less gross to just take a big sip every time your opponent hits a cup

Especially in a public place. In a friends home is one thing. The first time I saw water cups I had a similar reaction since I think the gross factor is kind of part of it. There's also something to having to chug the cups and being able to verify the amount everyone is forced to drink too. Having water cups to rinse the ball in between shots is a must. Water cups is ultimately the way to go though.

I don’t know if this is a wild opinion or not, but syrup should be a item on the side for dipping. It ruins the consistency of whatever you’re eating. Also, since the real stuff is so thin, you don’t have to use very much at all. Natural syrup is way better imo. The thick stuff always tastes metallic to me 🤷🏻‍♂️
