Guys quick advice: DOn't be just a programmer. Think before taking action drawn your plan to solve the problem, communicate with others for tips and advice, don't ask for user input before finishing the whole project, google is your friend, optimize the code don't create crazy variables or useless ones there always a better way, don't repeat cycles create more functions use commentaries. sry for English hope it helps you out this.

It’s been 15 years I left India, was in software, looks like there are many things which are still part of the culture e.g, mom asking to coach a kid, 2 hour to finish job, lead developer, was one who knew everything. Ended up doing everything and my mental system suddenly broke and decided to leave everything I was doing and do something else. I am still into tech, but so everything on my own terms as a freelancer. That culture shown in the video is toxic, I do have a offshore team in India now but they are bunch of responsible go getters and I strictly have my own culture that does not encourage any of the above.

Instead of saying 'Yes' better give a message like 'Good bye, call me when you have a reasonable idea. In the mean time I have to work on a side job.' or 'I may have time 3 months from now unless some other project is put on hold.' or 'I assume you have already written a clear specification with exactly what you need.' or 'Sounds like a good job for our new hire.'

@Yomangamer Don't overestimate the power of your manager. He/she likely needs you more then you need him/her. Of course if depends on the negotiating power on both sides which depends critically on offer and demand. Your value on the market is more important than kissing your managers behind.

Customer ko aur buttons chahiye tou just de do. Don't worry about performance or other issues. Most customers will not appreciate a programmer for building robust code that takes care of any future issues. Just build it quick and deliver, and get paid for it. Then sell a support contract to the customer for any future issues. There will definitely be a lot of issues when the customer requirements are so shoddy.
