I'm hoping to study Pharmacy next year. I didn't know that Pharmacists could work for makeup/skincare companies, but I'll definitely remember that fact since I'd love to do that if I don't feel the typical Pharmacy jobs are for me. Thanks for the video xxx

Great video to inform future students! I'm doing the same for biomedical science on my own channel! Indeed, many freshers are oblivious to future job options. And one important thing is that there's a lot of same options for people with a degree in pharmacy, biomed, biochem/biotech, industrial biochemical engineers... Often you see it in vacancies they ask for 'a relevant degree in life sciences'. What you study in uni is a base-education. You should be open to learn throughout your career! Especially in the exponentially-rising-technology-world we live in today! Really, nice overview you give with all these options. Indeed there's more to it than becoming a pharmacist with your own 'drug store' !!!

The BioChem Guy at my uni, the lab work is quite heavy in first and second year but we don't have labs in 3rd & 4th year! It is difficult but its do-able! I don't like labs either😭😂

waleed Amgad Not that I’m aware of! I believe you can do courses similar to pharmacy like pharmaceutical management online but not the pharmacy degree, I think! But definitely have a search on google.

Your video is really helpful! But i just want to know something , after 6 years of pharmacy studies do you get a doctorate in pharmacy ? and be recognized as a pharmacist? or you have to do eight years? Because i want to do pharmacy and i don't really understand if it will take me 6 or 8 years to become a pharmacist

Lauren Bernard In the UK, you do 4 years in university to get your masters in pharmacy then do a 5th year on your pre-reg and you do an exam to qualify as a pharmacist

What if you complete the 4 years and graduate but what if you fail the pre reg exam in the 5th year ??? What happens then

Dominic Pingol there’s a lot of topics covered such as anatomy, clinical skills, pharmacology, law and ethics, chemistry, pharmacy practices, drug discovery & formulation. It’s a large workload, which is what makes it harder but everything kind of interlinks

Thanks a lot. It only proves that I have a long road to cross. It is indeed expected since studying medicine is like no other course. It needs perfection which is accumulated through devil like series of studying underlying knowledge. In the future, it is in fact risking the patient's life.

Yes you can! If you have chemistry and another science e.g. physics then yes. Chemistry is the preferred science and the other one doesn't matter

biochemistry is a part of the modules studied in pharmacy.. therefore pharmacy is more broader .. however after pharmacy , you can do a masters in biochemistry if you want but you cannt do a masters in pharmacy if you dd biochemistry as your undergraduate

I am considering pharmacy for undergraduate but I'm better at bio whereas Chem for me it's just so-so but I scored A for Chem during my final exam in high school. My question is, does pharmacy includes complex chemical stuff and knowledges which are difficult? Should I choose this course?Thx!

Liane Chan it does include a lot of chemistry that gets more complex throughout the course but if you have a base of chemistry you should be fine!

much easier compared to highschool ..its actually about 1% of maths studied in pharmacy..I think in pharmaceutics only

Where did student, pls any advice I hope to study pharmacy in the university of Lagos (unilag) in Nigeria and in my SSCE I got C6 in chemistry can I go.

I’m 15 and I want to become a pharmacist I’m kind of worried about my gcse choice I chose single award science and was wondering would I still be able to get into uni along with chemistry biology and maths a levels.
