Something that really stands out to me about this school is the classroom environment- like it all seems so old and classical, and I really enjoy that

it was like that in my art school too. in Russia the classic approach to studying art is strong, so we have these classes that i feel like to someone outside can look almost like the ones some 19th century artist would take. though when you are there, trying to make your cube look like it isn't floating or forming some non--euclidian geometry, it seems so much more chaotic. even the teacher can't stop people from joking around, drawing dicks on each other's sheets and talking abt everything except art
your content about this art school inspires me so much, I just wanted to thank you bc your videos helped me to slowly start getting over my year long art block, pravda bolyshoe spasibo

I graduated from art school and I always wanted to go to the Academy of Fine Arts. It reminds me of my teenage days when I would come to drawing and painting classes with a folder full of unfinished works. Paradoxical i had the most painting work of anyone at the art review. Did no one in your art school doesn't like to paint still lifes?😂
I heard about using bread as a kneaded eraser and knew it worked but I had never heard about using bread crumbs to lighten a WHOLE DRAWING. That's amazing I'm going to try it.
This was so beautiful. It may sound a bit like an overreaction but I had actual tears at the begining, I remembered how much I used to love art and how much I dreamed about studying art. Thank you for this beautiful video, I can't wait to watch more of your content :)

Most beautiful art vlog I have ever seen! 💯💯
Your finish strokes display a maturity you should not have. A love of the visceral quality of paint. Skulls are to ground you in structure. Every portrait must look like there is a skull under it. Every hand must have the logic of bones. In studies it is difficult to do complete works, so I recommend examining Vuillard's work. He quickly renders the entire context, and that highlights the subject he more concentrates upon. Learn to discern and not to rely on technique. You have the eye of a Rembrandt, or Vermeer, you see the nuances that technique generalizes. Making a living at art requires that you distinguish yourself as one who captures treasure.

Dear Carl, thank you very much for your comment! you always know the right words and I’m always happy to read them! Thank you!
Great video! Fascinating to see that when it comes to portrait painting, learning this way just doesn't get old. Your classroom could be taken from the 1980s, or even 1800s!
Thanks for sharing; I've always been curious about what goes on inside art classes.

I just took a break from painting and I'm watching your video, it's inspiring and it fills me with joy to see you and your academy. I never studied in an art school but I like to learn and search
You're so lucky to have that much learning environment. I wish to be there.
