Welcome to my study streams! Here we follow the 50/10 Pomodoro method, where we work for 50 minutes and then take a 10 minute break to chat and relax.
I am a physics PhD student in my first year at the University of Auckland. My PhD is purely theoretical and computational, so I do lots of coding. My research looks at gravitational wave physics in relation to supermassive black holes and the future Laser Interferometer Space Antenna.
Doing my PhD means I did my 3-year physics undergraduate at university, decided to do another year to get my Masters, and then decided to keep studying for my PhD, so I have a LOT of study experience! A PhD in NZ means I now do purely research and don't take any classes.
I also have an interest in how memory works, how we develop habits and effective study methods!
I'm here as proof that you don't need to consistently do 12+ hour study days to do well in academia! Rest, hobbies and connections are just as important in life, and I will always promote that!
