My the day that my husband died from cardiac arrest we had called the ambulance after he stood up and almost passed out in the morning. He refused transport and treatment. Less than 12 hours later I was doing CPR with 911 on speaker and listening to the sirens getting closer. Sadly he didn't make it and a day doesn't go by where I don't wish I forced him to go to the hospital that morning.

This angered me. My partner/soulmate died at home aged 47 from a cardiac arrest just 12 hours after being discharged from Accident & Emergency. He told them about these pains he’d been having. He had heart disease and was two weeks off having a triple heart bypass. I forced an inquest and although the Dr admitted he “got it wrong” it was widely accepted he would have died if he’d been kept in hospital anyway. So NO the hospital only take you seriously if they can find something wrong at the specific time you visit A&E! What was the point of him visiting A&E if they said “he would have died anyway”. It makes me so angry. Now my little boy, who was 5, has to grow up barely remembering his Daddy and my beautiful soulmate is gone forever. 💔 And no, it wasn’t considered as medical negligence. So, if cardiac arrests can’t be prevented, what exactly is the point in going to hospital? Or is it only helpful in the case of those not having any previous heart disease. I’m in the UK. Maybe in the USA they can prevent a cardiac arrest?

uh helicopters, maybe if there is no local hospital that has a Cath lab and your are having a MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION (aka a heart attack in lamen terms), then minutes count to open your artery. If you experience sudden cardiac arrest with no related coronary artery blockage, there is generally no need for a helicopter unless the person in a pediatric patient.

Chest pain, shortness of breath, uncomfortable feeling in the chest. Sounds easy to overlook, unfortunately.
