thank you! the hard ware of the jewelry I used is sterling silver, that is not easy to rust but may be oxidized, but good quality silver with proper handling can last for a very long time. some other jewelry hard ware like silver/gold/palladium plated metal or gold vermeil are also not easy to rust too :)

I think you just have to invest in higher quality materials. Gold filled or real gold plated. And try not to buy brass. You can do silver or brass, but make sure to get ones with real gold plated on top.
