I enjoy watching this and remember the session well. I drove Everette Harp and Gregg Karukas in to the session from Norfolk and watched as they all crafted the collaboration. Was very happy to be a fly on the wall (2:20.). TE used my friend Robert Klages to shoot some of this footage and he died of an unexpected heart attack before this episode was released.

Guitar in every part sensational, even when he is filling some gaps in the keyboard solo, perfection pure what Peter did. Bass super nice, solid, slappin here and there at. Right time, also in keyboard solo, two times not in time with sax, but - super strong! Keyboarder excellent work - big wow, did the carpet at every time! . Harp - better than sanborn. This tone, phrasations, soul in every note- easy fliying fingers super smart how he gets the note at its point and give it easily away, gets the other one, incredible. Drums - solid solid solid, great. Maybe even so good, like every version from Master Cobham. Thx for loading up. Hearing this song once a month.

Everette Harp's solo - he builds its so tastefully and patiently in the beginning. Setting it up with the style of early Grover Washington improvs. A hint of Mr Magic or perhaps Not Yet (from a Secret Place CD). I am sure he wasnt going for it, and EH has his own fantastic style and phrasing (I am a huge fan). But the laid back patient bluesy solo nonetheless evoked these great Grover memories for me. That's kinda what music is about, right? Completely enjoyed this tune, thanks : )

On the original track the bass player doesn't play the complete figure you guys are referencing either. Just part of it but the 16th note triplet is avoided. It's tricky in terms of fingering. The original track has the bass player getting to a point in the figure then playing quarter notes. The bass player in this clip never heard the piece before nor is a seasoned "jazz" player. Considering he did an excellent job. It was also the first time all of us played together. I'm the drummer.

Solarfly - agree! When this song was called and I heard that line played I'm thinking, " crash and burn or just make it simple". Have never even heard the tune before that moment I had to make the decision to just stay out of the way. Realizing you have one take to play tunes you've never heard in front of rolling cameras resulting in musical peers who will no doubt critique every note you play? Yeah, a bit frightening.

I know this Billy Cobham tune so well now, that the mistake in the practice bothers me, because they miss the line by a beat. It just goes right after the last "A# A G A A# G"
