Just a quick note…. The horn on the back of the saddle comes out to hold the flag from the deluxe version. Your standard version it acts as a plug to hide the hole…

The neck fur part is not static. Its on a ball joint and can move. You might need to hear that up.

Ultima Thule thanks again for confirming that neck peg. I was able to get mine unstuck. There was a big glob of glue between it and the torso that was keeping it from moving. I never would have attempted it if you hadn’t confirmed that for me. Much appreciated!

Also, I think this figure would've benefited greatly from a big barbell double ball joint set up in the torso for arching back, hunching over, and dynamic turning poses.

This wolf has phenomenal sculpt. The extras like the fur cover up and maintenance parts are thoughtful. Being able to have display options armored, partly, or plain wolf is cool. Yeah price is a factor but he seems like he can hold poses and will last. Great review 👍

Way cool but way too expensive. I saw the white wolf and the first thing i wanted to imagine was princess mononoke to go with this cool figure.

Great review! It looks like this weekend, BBTS is having a sale on the white version of this. I really wish you would have shown us what Conan looks like on top of this mount instead of only standing beside it. A missed opportunity- but great review nonetheless. 😊

Great review !!! I was thinking, my dog does not have a whole lot of articulation either. I just don’t think four-legged animals generally have wide ranges of movement on their legs.

Personally if it would bring down the cost I would prefer the body to be static in pounce pose or mid walking pose …. With articulated neck and head. There’s not a lot of different pose you can achieve with a 4 legged beast that look naturally anyway.

Looks amazing, bummer about the articulation. Slightly less money and slightly more articulation would've put this guy over the top. It's impossible not to compare it to Mythic Legions, can you imagine what Four Horsemen would give us for a $150 figure. Still a great display piece though, the sculpt and paint are near perfection.

Stll on the fence with this one, if only for the price. Glad you were one of the very first to go over this figure for others to decide. I think there's no doubt this piece looks awesome and is meant to be a premium piece, but being nearly $200 and very limited articulation makes me weary. This one's a thinker. Solid review 👌

Visually a bit to "cartoony" / "stylized" (See also the dogs included with some of Damtoys' figures)... BUT I still want one... (Probably black and the cheaper, less armored option for me...)

This one is on sale this weekend at BBTS. Still the size and overall is not for me for now. Just came to double check with your review and by the way let know some collectors heresince some didn't order due to the price.

I have this on Pre-order and I've been looking forward to it, but also thought about canceling it a few times due to the price on BBTS. The limited articulation is disappointing, but the sculpt and paint looks great. Depending on how I like it when I get it this might be the only one I add to my collection. I think it will look awesome mixed in with my Mythic Legions. Thanks for the review I really appreciate seeing it close up.

I had my pre-ordered from 5k toys. With shipping, it was going to be $165, but I had too many suspicions on the articulation to price point ratio. I ended giving up the deposit and cancelled the pre order, because too many other things are coming out at once, and I had to be particular about what was the worth the money. At $165, i I don't think it is worth it, and at the $200 you are going to pay on BBTS after tax, definitely not worth it either.

@@jrivv2239 It is expensive, but I really like the idea of a giant wolf mount on my shelf. I do agree the price seems too high, for me it will be a single purchase and a unique figure on my shelf. That's how I justify the cost.

Thank you for this video, I've been debating weather to get this exact one or the basic black one with interchangeable head, or really just get one at all. I'd say I definitely want one, and I kinda prefer this grey one but I don't care for the armor, if I get him I'm taking the armor off and gonna look for a nice sword to put in his mouth and he'll be my "Sif, the great grey wolf" from Dark Souls. But the black one is really cool too.... But just like you said, definitely can't be buying both!

Greay Review. Im waiting on mine from BBTS. I actually ordered the Black one with Basic Gear and an Alternate head as well this week. Ultinately, im waiting on the Coomodel Werewolves as well and when all is said and done. Im gonna have Werewolves Riding these Giant Wolves for my display. Its gonna look sooo cool. But until then. I cant wait!

And the way the horsemen have been hinting that 2022 is gonna be a huge year, more money for legions will definitely be needed.

I wonder if they’ll improve articulation on their future releases

The next wave includes some "basic" wolves, so you can have those more simplistic display options you're thinking of when you mention regretting not getting 2.

Man, that articulation and squeaky tight joints terrifies me. Good review though. I'm thinking about MAYBE getting the black simpler version.

I pre ordered the grey bone wolf and it’s coming soon I’m very excited to put it with my mythic legends. Also if you look at big bad toy store you can see how Poseable it is, you can make it run, sit, close to any pose. You probably need to heat yours, sounds like yours joints are really stiff.

@@MMA979 I was able to get a little more out of it, but it’s a lot of work and there just aren’t a lot of different poses possible. Just slightly different variations on the same pose.

I seriously considered getting this for my Mythic Legions display. I just couldn't get past the price though. I hope that the Horsemen make something similar in the future. I suspect that the Horsemen could make this for half of the price.

Yeah Mezco Conan works well on there.

These are awesome but man they are just to expensive and no articulation in it's torso is kind of shitty. It is so limited on what it can do pose wise. For the price point that's just a no go for me.

That pretty much sums it up for me.

The torso is solid plastic and it doesn't need to be. Could have saved money by making not solid, added a dumbbell joint in the torso for better articulation, made the leg joints less stiff and less of a pain to move, and then it would be possible to balance it reared up for more dynamic posing, and shipping cost would be less from weight.

A joint cut in the torso esthetically would have looked horrible. Personally, I’d rather sacrifice movement over having a torso line.

If these were somewhere between 80-90 I’d get one, but almost 200 hell no. I just can’t see a lot of people dropping that kind of money for just a mount. Tbh, I’ve seen just as good sculpt work on older mcfarlane mounts.

This is so much bigger than I thought. That price is keeping me away.

Kinda cool but it basically seems like a static figure for just a rider to sit on. It looks nice but has a “stylized” look that’s not exactly realistic..not that giant wolves are real. Good review

I wouldnt compare this to a Mythic Legion horse - it compares more with a Troll which like this wolf have all the articulation you need. This is a much more impressive and imposing piece than one of the ML horses and has all the movement you will need. Price is high though but it certainly is a very unique piece that I am very happy I got.

Oh yes, I should have mentioned that. I heated it up multiple times including right before the articulation segment.

This looks great, but for the price it's a struggle to justify purchasing. Plus the articulation that you demonstrated makes it even harder. It looks great incredible, but at almost $200.00 I don't think so. Too bad though

Also as I mentioned in another comment, there was some glue holding the neck in place, fortunately someone confirmed it was a ball joint and I muscled it free.

Yup. It's crazy, I wonder if that's why they hat to go so tight on the joints.

It's funny: I was not terribly disappointed by the limited articulation. I guess I am happy with it for what is it, even if it may not be worth the high price. It definitely looks like the company has learned from their mistakes and has made their upcoming boar figure HIGHLY articulated.

Lovely piece but the price on this thing is hilariously ridiculous crossing the line into completely stupid. Where on earth they get that price from is beyond me. Seeing nothing here to justify paying that.
