Exactly. It's just like feminism. "We want men to build all the houses, but we don't wanna have to rely on a man for a house. We need the government to send men with guns to kick him out of his house so we can divorce him. And then we need constant messaging about how strong and independent we are for having men rob men on our behalf."

People who call themselves qualified and cogent usually do or say something highly illogical in the 4-5 sentences that follow. I don't care how many qualifications you have and what your skin color is. She just proved that despite being a lawyer she is incapable of formulating a proper argument. "The world is not set up for me [as a black woman] to get the job," yet this is said in the face of our reality in which she got the job! This is a total detachment from reality. As she continues to speak about how she is not a DEI hire, the more we continue to suspect her as one. A truly qualified person in any field for any job does not worry about how identity politics played a role in their hiring.

I'm sorry, but 53% of football players ate black, 72% of basketball players, and baseball is 9.5%. Other sports average around 9%. Our black population is around 13%. Sports want the best no matter color because like every company it's about having the best to bring in the wins and the money. Hence why basketball is 73% black. Sports is the most obvious area that race doesn't matter. Sounds to me like she's being a cry baby about having to work hard. You want to become the best and stay on top you have to put in 200% all the time, no matter who you are or what color you are.

Seems to me like if there needs to be more ethnic diversity in the boardrooms, then how about the players making millions of dollars per year save up their money and buy into the clubs ownership? If theyre on the owners list, then the likelihood of being on a board goes up exponentially. And yes, dei is absolutely, and factually, directly tied to race and ethnic background. She cannot be this ignorant of the facts of what she is arguing.

This is why players are not on the board. I am sure she is a great player and very well meaning person, but if she doesn't understand the basics of DEI then she can't understand the complexities of major business decisions. Everyone wants to be the boss but you can't just give someone a chance to try being in charge because a sports team can be financially destroyed by one bad decision. That is why you have to prove your abilities in a less responsible position. And like being the best at a sport the ones who stand out in business are asked to be on the board.

She's not saying football players should be in the boardroom; she's asking why it is not diverse. I would answer by saying that maybe no one from a minority qualified or even applied for the position. Why are mechanics not in the boardroom? It's because they have an interest in mechanics. If they wanted to be in the board room, they would seek another route to get there. Football players are interested in football. That's why they are not in the boardroom because they would rather play football. When you're running a business, you want people well suited for the job in terms of desire, experience and education, regardless of race.

The problem is, there are those who are so used to taking everything that they want, yet when asked to give something in return, they would try to find a way out of doing so. With things like race being abused to no end, it becomes more of an excuse to expect things to be as one-sided as possible, without being held accountable for one's own actions.

It's interesting, because most of what she is saying is actually anit-DEI, but she hasn't realized that. I would guess, because she imagines DEI being something different than what it objectively is.

I graduated last year 23, in my economics class we were usually given assignments every day, one paper (about equity, equality, etc different models) said that "equality: the idea that everyone benefits from the same outcome." Pretty sure the comment about Equity was full of praise no doubt.

How is she measuring that

The problem with DEI is the people who didn't need DEI get lumped in with the people who are clearly only there because of DEI, there's plenty of super-talented people who made it big before DEI was a thing, It should be based on what you can do and that you were the best fit for the job. DEI didn't only hurt young white men It hurt young Asian men as well, most of us have to prove ourselves when we don't have people backing us up. When your family is well known or has money It's pretty clear life is easier overall. Most people never see the struggles people had to face before becoming the man/woman they are today. Its just tiresome that everything is all about race/gender and not about the talents the person has or how hard they worked to get there.

If she is so educated (from the top diverse university in her country), she's proving that putting diversity above merit doesn't produce exceptional people. Also, I've been hearing that education standards in the UK have dropped drastically. I'm not convinced that her degree means anything at this point. As for how hard she has had to work, she's assuming they didn't work as hard because they're white men (which is racist and sexist, and men do not have to work hard to best women in sports anyway), and if she hadn't worked as hard as she claims she did, another woman would have likely bested her. Surely, professional athletes know why they work so hard and understand that not doing so would put them in the same league as the average Joe. So, does she want to be the best or not? It sounded like she just hates having to put in the work to be exceptional.

She's proof you can get pushed through the modern university system with honors at an IQ of like 95 if you're a black woman that works hard. Cause listening to her talk, she's a mid-wit or below. She's an athlete, so she definitely has work ethic, cause you can't do that without training hard, and work ethic makes up for a lot. Study time counts. If anything, she's an example of how privileged blacks are and how rare exceptional work ethic is in blacks,

Love the reaction man, I agree with a lot of the things you said. This person is no one in the football world, and yet she’s the only one complaining. I don’t see athletes complaining about lack of diversity both in games and in the boardroom. She is also a perfect example of a person who makes claims without data to back them, making a problem where there isn’t one.

19:35 She's now assuming she's done more work, or has to do more work than others. Does she have a comparison to the others at her level for how much work they do? This feels like she's making a LOT of assumptions that everyone else doesn't need to do even half as much as her, to be where they are now.
