Mandarin Chinese? Mandarin is Chinese, do you mean Taiwanese Mandarin?

When I started to learn Mandarin I couldn't tell apart Taiwanese Mandarin and Mainland Mandarin, but after one year of study I certainly do.

​@@isaiaha8395 I would say they share the same grammar system. And the meaning of words might vary a bit from different areas. Also, Mainland Mandarin is using simplified characters while Taiwan/Hk is using traditional characters. For pronunciation, I would say they share the same pronunciation, however, Chinese adopts Pinyin, a romanization system, for Standard Chinese, on the other hand, Taiwanese is using Zhuyin, phonetic symbols.

Im studying Mandarin here in mainland China but personally I feel that Taiwan Mandarin is easier to understand bec it's clear when they speak. It's really clear when they speak compared here in mainland. Just my own opinion ✌️😁

Universities in China are this way too. High school is really hard, but college is super easy. It’s so funny, and it seems strange. Shouldn’t college be more rigorous, to develop the students to a higher level? In the USA, our high school is too easy, but college is much harder. We should improve or high schools and elementary and middle schools, but we do have many excellent universities. Taiwan and China face the opposite problem.

I hope there will be more Mandarin videos! Taiwanese Mandarin and Mainland Chinese Mandarin are both good. I prefer speaking the Beijing/Northeast dialect, but it’s good to learn to understand all dialects of Mandarin.

Jack Rippon hahah but we still do use sh sound cus it is still considered more standard for the words that needs to be pronounced with sh sound. I guess it’s just accent.

The Chinese subtitle contains a slight mistake -"出入"（ discrepancy ）， it should have been "出路"（way; path）. Since this is a language teaching video, it is better to have some professional proofreading personal in the team.

Her accent is so unbearable, her vocabulary is great though (better than mine)

Did the interviewer not learn the 4 Chinese tones? It’s kinda over the place...

Yes it is , the Spanish spoken in Mexico is different to the one Spain ,even in the same country we wouldn't use the same words depending the place or like Arabic , Palestinian Arabic , Emirati Arabic and so , the title is really needed

i'm sorry to say that but the interviewer's pronunciation is just terrible. i believe she will speak mandarin better tho

Asian languages are extremely difficult for European natives. I tried Korean, and it felt like my mouth couldn't possibly "bend" to doing the right sounds. I didn't even come close. If she speaks and you understand her, she is doing a very good job and has probably put a lot of effort into it.

Justin K I think it’s more about the chinese tones rather than pronunciation. It feels as if the interviewers didn’t put any effort in memorizing the tones.

It’s mandarin with a Taiwanese accent. Not everyone sounds the same so the title is very valid. Regardless, it’s their video to publish, no need to push your agenda on others.

taiwanese mandarin is totally different from mainland chinese, especially for a beginner learner it is confusing. not only are vocabulary words across chinese speaking regions different, but the accent varies and learners need to know which dialect they are learning. if you speak like you're from beijing in taiwan, people will laugh at you and vice versa. if you speak taiwanese mandarin thinking its standard mandarin youll also get laughs. there is a difference, nothing wrong with that. just like british english and american english

@@noorabdo2235 Actually there is a 'standard mandarin' from taiwan, its called guo yu. So, thats just a wrong statement to say Taiwanese mandarin is not standard mandarin. The strong accents in the video are just how people talk in every day speaking..
