Thanks for this video! This happened to my Dad on our farm when I was 15. I vaguely remember him sticking the handle of a large adjustable wrench down thru the fill cap and fixing it. That was 58 years ago. I still own that tractor and use it on my 5 acres to clear brush, clean up downed trees, move snow and mow paths thru our prairie. I've always hoped this wouldn't happen to me, wondering if I'd remember how to fix it. Yesterday, it did. I even still own the adjustable wrench from my Dad. I couldn't quite get it though. I bought a $15 pry bar just like your video and it fixed it in one easy nudge to the left. Thanks very much for making a great video. I especially appreciate getting the lighting right on the gears so you can see what goes on!

Thank you for posting this. My dad jammed mine up yesterday and was kind of concerned. I figured it would be a simple fix. You verified my thought.

The explanation you give for the hangup is perfect. Massey 35's are notorious for hanging up if you shift to fast to (R) especially from 1 to R. Hung mine twice before I learned, just slow down the work aint going anywhere it will still be there when you get it in reverse lol. It's an easy fix but just slowing down the shift is a lot faster than having to walk round trip for the prybar. Good video .

Thanks for that. Just take you time. Guess you have to learn that the hard way sometimes.

My 135 jammed three days ago in reverse. I was told to do this, but I just couldn't visualize what to do. Now I know!

So I did this and it's still stuck. Now I realize I wasn't depressing the clutch when I pushed it FWD. Does it make a difference ? What else can I do since it's still stuck ?

@@caspertheghost7332 Yes, after pushing it Fwd it didn't pop out. So the arm attached to gear you must reach inside behind that arm at the front of the tranny and push the gear back again and it popped loose. I was fortunate to have owned a 1948 Willys Jeep @18 and had rebuilt the tranny, similar gearing with a PTO attached. So if it doesn't pop out by pushing FWD, pry it back and it should pop loose. Best of luck !
