Thank you for this video! Went to pull Right axle from a Nissan Maxima- I came apart at the boot. I used PB blast to loosen things up, still no luck. No lift or pit so I can’t get under the vehicle to bang it out. The tool you crafted is amazing!!!! Thx you…

They have slide hammers for axles with a bent end like a pickle fork at a 90 degree angle. Like $20 on Amazon, and they work wonders.

For free from autozone with the slide hammer…. 70$ deposit that gets returned when tool gets returned

I wrap a chain around the inner joint and use a slide hammer. Pops right out.

We had a one at work, even the vice grip and slide hammer would not work so we ended up welding two bolts to it used a harmonic balancer puller, and then we screwed the slide hammer to the harmonic balancer puller and off it came super easy, thank gosh my coworker has a welder 🤣

OTC sells a slide hammer kit and inside is a adapter with claw for the slide hammer to use on that axle housing. The housing has 4 protruding points which the claw will grab. I just used it. I have the OTC kit

Trying to find this kit. Can you post a link if you have the time. I’m fighting one that one budge. I don’t want to admit how many hours I have been fighting this sucker

I'm facing that now I even use the sliding kit that goes behind between tranny to no avail just going to get new one disconnect the inner side and put on with boot the bad side is by the the wheel hub side

@@jms7620 that's the smartest thing to do bud I drilled holes and attached a slide hammer to the cup part so I had to go with a new used trans and that worked out but that damn thing was not coming out of there!

@@michiganporter dam ain't nothing easy about this car....first time it came out with a normal flat head the new one cracked from the front axle... but my camber and alignment and suspension is jacked could of been just stress on the suspension just wearing it out faster than Normal

Me n my bro just just removed one. He hammered it with a 2lb hammer. I tied a rope to the axle and pulled while he tapped it. it came out in like 4 taps .

I break out the 4 foot long mandingo pry bar. Its coming out.

So how are you clamping the vice grip onto the axel. Oh you mean after you ruin it then put the vice grip on....wow, what a great tip
