Awesome stuff! Love the cleanup work! Was always disappointing as kids seeing messed up camping spots when we'd pull up somewhere with the old man. If those spotties haven't been won yet would love a set for his 4wd and night travel! Again entertaining and as always informative vids. Keep up the good work!

My story is more of a recovery. Here in Michigan we sometimes get some heavy snow storms. I got called up to help a friend out that was driving home in one such storm, couldnt see past the end of the hood half the time. They lost sight of the road and drove into a county ditch. (County ditches here are 9'-20' deep) This one was on the deep end. I found them in white out conditions (using incandescent headlights only), to get there and realize the cold had killed my flashlight. I spent 30 min in waist deep snow with my cellphone as a light, digging around for a safe tow point. Needless to say proper light would have been a life saver. But a few good yanks with a snatch strap (didn't have a winch yet either) and my beast popped it free then safely drug it up the ditch wall and got my friends back on the road. P.s. I followed them home @ 35mph for 20 miles, in 13" of snow accumulation.

G'day guys, putting a wee yarn in for those spotties. We had access to the property that hosted the Deadwood Safari. We went in the arvo/night. One particular obstacle we decided to instead of tackling the hill vertically, we knew everything in our early twenties. We decided to go up zigzag style. Started off ok. Then we ended up going more horizontally. Lights on, but we didn't see the paths that the sheep use on the hill. Needless to say by the time we got to the bottom, we had rolled 8 times. Was a wee Suzuki with a 1-8 litre. Pre VVTC days. Front windows popped out, didn't break. Destroyed the body. Still drove home after we roped the f/window in. Absolute hoot.

I could have used those spotties when I wrote me car off in the high country on a kangaroo. Didn't see the bugger until he was basically on the bonnet mate. Thankfully he clocked the A pillar and not the windscreen. That would have been a doozy. A solid bloke in a blacked out Hilux was tailing me and hopped out. He whipped out a machete, dispatched the kangaroo and left me mate and I to the tow truck. Since then I always run extra driving lights and could use a pair for my new (to me) vehicle.

So I'm in NE Alabama, lots of mud here. A co-worker took his kids to a chirt pit we call The Moon, it's really just white mud. Anyway he ended up getting stuck and calling for some help. We are both police officers and I was on shift until 11:00PM. So of course pitch black when I get there and working with just headlights and his kids running around with the flashlights. We were all covered in mud by the time he was out but was a fun experience for us and his kids had a blast. Those memories and getting young children involved is what its all about. That's my story. Thanks for all y'all do and for the great content!

hey guys, I could've really used a set of spotties the first and only time I visited Fraser Island in my patrol. Driving back from Lake Mackenzie to the Eastern beach in the late afternoon, the sun dropped below the trees faster than we expected. We were all driving fairly stock 4wds and I was leading the pack. It got so dark we taped four torches to my bullbar, which ended up being brighter than the stock headlights. Took close to 2 hours and by the end of the track we were too tired to even enjoy a cold one. Was one hell of an experience.

At home watching this with the wife and wanted to respond to you guys wanting to know about a story when we needed more lighting! Well, we once did the Rubicon Trail in California...in 6.5/7 hours. We hit the trail around 4pm and just pushed through it. We needed some lights when we came across a sketchy graveyard site, and went along rather quick through that since you know...ghosts only grab people in the dark! Then after that experience, needless to say, we hit one of the hardest obstacles on the trail in pitch black - Cadillac hill! Imagine a goat trail, along the side of a cliff with shadows playing tricks on you in the pitch black night along with your mind also starting to play tricks on you after bouncing off rocks all day. The extra clarity sure would have helped then! We plan on going back when all this Covidness clears up and the borders open up - hopefully with more lighting ;) Stay safe, cheers!

Bit of a story for those spotties. Had a big run home along double island point with a king tide and heavy storm smashing our camp which forced us to pack up drive home as our tents and tarps were all ripped to shreds. Ended up driving in the sand dunes with waves smashing us and obviously with no spotties we couldn't see far ahead. Slowly made it off the beach and onto the road home and the first corner we took the trailer wheel fell off and a whole new adventure started. middle of the night hectic storm and well a trailer without its wheels.

As you know the stock lights on these old LN106 are TERRIBLE, just driving on normal roads at night is difficult with everyone else having modern lighting. On the trail, well I just stop at dark. So much is missed and its better to call it quits and camp, than to strand myself due to an accident . A set of Teralumes would be a great addition on my Lux! Keep up the videos! I look forward to everyone with the pony! but the others are good too.

I could have used a set of those lights last year when I took a trip down to my property in the middle of the woods in northern california. I was only planning on a trip to visit some family in the area, but then I decided to go take a look at our land that we had deep into the forest. It used to be a small trail that descended about a mile long woods, but during the recent wildfires, forest management bulldozed a huge firebreak into our land which thankfully saved half of it from being burned. Anyways, since bulldozers has been through there, the ground was mushy and almost 100% clay. I made it down alright, but then it started to rain and on the way out I got bogged really bad. I was stuck. So stuck that I had to spend the night. Now, just after it got dark, I was digging through some bags and stuff in the back of my rig when I heard some tree branches being broken somewhere at the front of my car. I only had my phone for a flashlight, so it was no good. Be mindful, this is bear country and I wasnt about to be caught outside of my rig when a bear comes strolling through. I hopped in the drivers seat and flipped the headlights on, even with the headlights on I could just barely make out a set of eyes! It was pretty scary being I was the only one for miles, and I had basically no defense. I turned the lights off as to not draw any attention from whatever it was over there. It was a pretty tense 5 minutes or so, I couldnt take it anymore and I flipped the lights back on. Now, about 20 feet infront of me stood not 1, but 2.....full grown raccoons! Man, if I had a set of those lights I wouldnt have felt like such a snub after that. I would have been able to see them the very second I flipped them on. I still tell people that there were two bears though, just so I dont sound like a wimp. Awesome video by the way! I wish I would ship my LS swapped Montero/Pajero out there to do some wheeling!

Love the episode guys, actually learning a lot from watching you fellas. Well its easy to know when I needed lights. I've recently done my first build with a 09mn triton after putting in the winch I went out with a local 4wd group for a first real crack at 4wding and seeing what the car is capable of. Well the car in front popped something out in the wheel and as I was following on a narrow track we went to use my car to light up the area for a bush repair, but something has happened to the old halogen lights it came with and weren't working so could actually do with a new set as its already on the list for the set up.

I’m from the USA. Me and some of my buddy’s headed out to the swamp one night and we were both driving 2wd trucks mine being the only one with mud tires we left his truck and the entrance 😂. We got a couple miles back and went in some pretty deep water which filled my head lights up with muddy water. Busting my glass bulbs. Once my head lights went out we decided to turn around and that posed to be a difficult task because the trail was very narrow and the only lights we had were phone flash lights. The whole way back a buddy rode on the hood using his phone light and occasionally we’d run off in a ditch on either side of the road bouncing ole buddy around on the hood😂😂😂. Thanks for reading. those spot light would go nice with a new project I have😉😂

I have done the tele track twice, once in 83 in a series 2A Army Landrover towing a halftone trailer. The return part of that trip was completed in front-wheel drive as I did an axle shaft in the rear. The second trip in 92 was in a Unimog towing an 8 tone trailer ' again in the Army' this time taking engineering stores to Bamaga to repair the Jetty. Both trips will always be ones to remember. Also travelled to the corners of Queensland in an Mk5 International 6X6 Truck towing a 1,1/2 tone trailer, when my unit built the bord walk around the Burk and Wills Dig Tree. Again a trip to remember. Love your show and the channel, keep up the great work guys. Was wondering if you could do a show on the Nav systems you use and your recommendations.

I have a 2005 4Runner, and she has a 2018 4Runner, (Prado 120, and 150) and at some point, we have to turn around! Stock headlights with brights just don't cut it to give good enough visibility to turn around every time, and they would save us loads of time with recoveries and avoiding obstacles. Really enjoy your guy's channel, lets see some more snow wheeling videos!

Making it out to Death Valley to see a old mining cabin from the 1800s it’s a rocky drive up to it! Not having enough lights we had to wait until morning and realized it wasn’t as bad as it looked in the dark. Missed a whole night in the cabin over lack of lights! Love the channel long time fan! I have a 96 Toyota 4Runner and man oh man would some spot light would have helped me about three weeks ago. A group of us went out riding, 04 Volvo, 2020 ram 1500 and me. Well it got dark quick and all the water crossings where shallow enough for the Volvo to keep up. Well came to another one and my dim headlight didn’t spot Lilly pads growing in the water(sure sign it’s deep and mucky) my 4runner (black bean) made it through but took about 2 minutes of back and forth. Needles to say had about a foot of mud/water in the cab. A set of lights would have made all the difference. Love watching you guys. Inspired me to buy my first 4x4 a year and half ago, and has been a blast ever since. Thanks for the opportunity.
