This video was shot at the opening show of the NYC Ska Mob tour in the fall of 1997, I think October since Greg from Mephiskapheles had his Smarties 7" for sale there... one of my all time favorite shows, Insteps, Slackers, Skinnerbox, and finally SAS, all in top form. So many friends in the video, thanks so much for posting it.

because the big money is in cranking out a ton of shit, one piece after another, and marketing it aggressively with as many hooks as possible. It's just a blessing that guys like this still keep the faith and go on playing for the pure love and joy of the craft.

Yeah it's the same here in Antwerp, belgium. There is a pretty decent scene building in the north of france though and one thing I can really suggest is Kopenhagen. The city is sheer awesomness when it comes to music.

@o0Knucklehead0o true it does cost a fortune off our wallets as working class people and i guess over rated but i love to support ska and the culture that surrounds it. i go by with buying stuff at ebay coz its cheaper. i don't buy fred perries at the shop though coz its one hell of a price but thanks to your suggestion though i will be sure to check out warrior.

anyone know the name of the guitar player in this video (not Agent Jay from the Slackers, the other one)? I think I saw him way back playing with the New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble with Laurel Aiken. He was a total beast at that show!!
