Given myself a treat - two videos in 2 days...thank you so much. Trouble is I don't want to do anything else but watch and listen. So inspirational and sound was perfect.
Incredible the way these paintings start so chaotic and end up so beautiful.

The early stage is one of my favorites - typically see so many images early on in the painting as Stuart finalizes what he is going after. Much fun!

This way of painting is perfect for someone like me. I have ADHD, which comes with its fair share of limitations. Such as spacial relations issues, impatience, a lot of wild energy... The use of minimal colors helps me see light, dark, and depth better. I see the shapes AFTER they start to form. I'm also very intense (to the point of unnecessary roughness) in the way I move, and do things. (Many a broken crayon, marker, and paint brush in my history.) Growing up, I was always told be careful with things, not color outside the lines, be easier, gentler, plan things out, yada yada. My brain simply does not work that way. And neither does nature. It's wild, and impulsive, and free. I grew up watching Bob Ross (whom I adore) but I don't "see" the way he does. I've never seen anyone paint on WOOD before, and it's genius. You can't hurt it. You can use big, stiff brushes, and a lot of force, without worrying that you're going to damage a canvas, or a brush. You can be free with movement. The scale helps enormously in getting things to pop out at me. Landscapes and seascapes are my favorite. Much like Stuart cannot make a calm sky? I can't make a calm sea lol. They start out that way... then, 🌊 .
Might I add that your sense of humor is great as well? Your remark about "de-baconising" the cloud had me spitting my coffee over my monitor!! Thanks once again for the video and a beautiful landscape, Stuart!
We need you unsupervised more 😇😀 Two videos back to back - what a treat!!! Love the colors Stu and the new big brush! Thank you for the upload - always a pleasure to watch and paint along with you 👍
HA HA HA....When you put the orange first, my reaction was "Huh" and felt like my heart will pop out of my mouth. This is what makes you a master....
Thank you so much, Stuart! I nearly had a heart attack when you first applied that orange! This was an outstanding video, chock full of fascinating tuition and by the way, the sound was perfect to my hearing. I really appreciate your videos, even though I don't paint in oils, as I still learn so much. They are also extremely relaxing, given your mellifluous voice. Can't get a better Sunday than that!

I've never heard that word before. Thank you.
I love your long videos. I have come back to attempt art after a 40 year absence and I play your videos while I'm painting. Don't stop! I'm finally slowly learning your way of painting and it is freeing.
I do love your paintings and I always watch to the very end. Yesterday, I practiced "being messy" and it was delightful! Yahoo...it is fun. And as I said previously , this 90 year old artist (my birthday is Sunday) will follow you anywhere. Tell your wife not to get jealous. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us

Happy Birthday!
'I'm unsupervised' - I roared at that when you went and smashed the painting with orange at the beginning lol
The sound is perfect. Gentle and clear. Thank you for yet another great tutorial.
All I can say is WOW, that sky looks like it's actually moving. Thanks for all your effort.
I totally agree with Susan, Stuart. Ithought you had a bit of cubism going on in the clouds to start with, but you brought it back, as always. Why do you force me to doubt, even when I know there's no point? Thats the magic , I supose. You trick us, then there is always a happy ending and we all go, wow!
Fantastic painting dear friend....nice sharing....have a nice day 💖
Thanks Stuart and for your relaxing voice.
I really enjoy getting home from work and putting a video of yours on my tv whilst sipping on a small whisky. You’ve also inspired me to perhaps try and create an abstract painting….in oils! Thank you, Stuart
I love what colour can do. Beautifully done 😍
Sir, with all respect, even if I were denied the privilege watching you create, I would be more than happy to just hear your words. And I thank you for that.
I screamed at you when you added the white to that beautiful sky. THEN you started scumbling and wow magnificent envious of your clouds
One of my favorite videos of your paintings! I can’t believe you are painting with red and orange! Very nice !
Absolutely LOVE it, Stuart! I love big, dramatic skies, so yours always please my eyes.
ANOTHER STUNNING PIC!!!!! VERY RELAXING, YET DRAMATIC LOOKING TOO.
Thank you. You are a real master.. please keep painting and posting.
The sky creates a strong atmosphere, lots of feeling. Maybe a part 3 to brings the landscape into balance. Great video.
Thank you Stuart, You made my day, today and each time I watch you paint.
I could just watch you painting for eternity. So utterly mesmerising and inspiring
Very beautiful sky, love the colors!
Thank you for these relaxing videos I’ve watched lots of oil painting videos using different methods and, despite having never painted, feel confident that I could pick up a brush an do a decent painting. It’s amazing how much you learn about such a practical task by just listening.
Stuart Davies unsupervised... yep it's going to be a good tutorial ☺. My skies are getting so much better because of your tutorials, thank you so much!!
I have always been fascinated with the sky. You make them look so easy. I wait for your videos and keep practicing. You are so easy to listen to and I love your technique.
I love watching you paint and the fun, free way you experiment and "let's see if I add a bit more here and..." Painting and expressing is a discovery process, so good to be reminded, thank you! Love watching your paintings unfold. God Bless!
“I need a Do For. Someone who will do for me. Well that didn’t sound quite right.” 🤣🤣🤣. Made me choke on my ice coffee. This one was a real joy to watch. I also liked you leaving the sounds of your moving around the studio, etc. it does feel More like we’re in the studio w/ you imho. The various ways you can lay the paint down w/ a spackling tool, palette knife, big brush, whatever, & then make it look so incredible just amazes me. Having watched all your videos, many several times, & practicing painting myself, all the sudden I think I’ve learned enough that now, I’m noticing many specific techniques you use, that I believe are second nature to you at this point, bc you’re a master painter, that I missed.. the little things that make all the difference. Now I can see some of what my beginner’s eyes missed, when I’d attempt some of your methods. Funny that. This is why I love that we now live in a world where I have access to watch & learn anything I want. Even better, in addition to just plain old practice, I find re-watching your videos (usually if I get an idea of something I want to paint, & I get stuck, I refer to one or more of your videos, to help me solve my problem) really helps me gain a fuller, & more detailed understanding of why your techniques turn out such amazing results. It makes learning so much easier to be able to re-watch, pause, rewind, slow the speed, take a screenshot.. It still blows my mind that we’ve access to this kind of technology. I’m in a small town across the pond, & I’m watching an artist in France teach me how to 🎨 . Gobsmacking if you’re from my generation or older (I’m GenX). This was a fantastic tutorial. I love the depth & contrast you created along w/ your use of the brighter colors in your sky. 24:28 was an excellent tip & explanation I really needed.Ty!! Sound was perfectly fine. I watch on the KZread app on my smart tv. Thx for the heads up about moving patreon videos to KZread. I suspect the quality of the recorded video will be better as well.

I have found this video very useful. I especially like the way you explain everything as you are painting. As an artist myself it is great to hear your internal dialogue as you create a painting. I have picked up many tips from watching your videos. Thank you.
Love the video as always! Beautiful work.
The change is amazing... So much life...
This is an excellent one Stuart. I’ll need to give it a try hopefully this week.
A really big and beautiful painting! The sky was already very beautiful in the beginning, but adding colors and gorgeous clouds added so much excitement. I really love it! My opinion is the sound of all yours video is tip-top in every way, that is, in every way good and decent. Many many thanks!
I see green in the sky at every sunrise driving to work!
I love sky scapes I adore clouds thanks for this beautiful work
Absolutely brilliant Stuart. Just starting my oil journey and these clips are great inspiration. You have a real gift.

OUTSTANDING.
Beautiful!
Wildly exciting yes that's the best description...simply wonderful Stuart 🎨
Beautiful tutorial thank you Stuart and a beautiful painting.
Beautiful beautiful beautiful
I know I've this video before. I learn something new each time I view it.
I was gobsmacked when you added such a deep vivid orange, then followed it up with red, "how's he going to recover from that?" But wow! did you ever, turned the sky from lovely to spectacular! You helped me see that I need to be less timid with my color choices when I paint and relax and enjoy it. Thanks Stuart!
Great as usual.
Brilliant! Thank you!
Mastering the ART FORM....yes in front of my eyes ...complete clearvoience....love your tools ...and graceful brush work ! Powerful !

Hello Stuart, your video’s make me very happy! And i don’t even paint. I find it very difficult, and i feel like I have more control with drawing. I would love to get better at painting, but I’m too scared of messing things up. Anyways, just wanted to say that your paintings are absolutely gorgeous and you put a smile on my face.
Stuart, you are such a wild one with your skies... love it! Thanks for finding these gems and reposting. This two-parter is so full of helpful information and instruction. Always inspiring!

Thank you so much for showing me I can finally paint something.Tonalism all the way...saves on paint too.
I have been painting with acrylics for decades with decent results, mostly landscapes because in college (a hundred years ago) I had constant headaches after each painting class and was told that I was allergic to the oil paints so I switched. I have always been a fan of the Hudson River School and was frustrated that I couldn't get the same effect with my painting. After watching the video where you explained that it was the turpentine tha was the problem I was so inspired I have revamped my studio, donated all the acrylics to the local college and bought all new oil paints (the timing was perfect the store had a buy 3 tubes and get 2 free) and have cut back on the volume of brushes as well! 😍Thanks to you I have started a new chapter on my artistic journey, hopefully with less frustration with the medium and a lot more fun, starting with finding a place for the giant box of paper towels that was just delivered.
It's bloody scary, on the edge of seat stuff when you go glazing! Keep it up. And the life stories add to the lesson - used to have a maths teacher who would analyse equations on the board whilst telling his tales. It were brilliant. 😂
Beautiful. Thanks for a weekend of wonderful viewing
I really injoy your style
Wasn’t too sure about this sky when you first started out with the glazing but- as I should have known - it is magnificent. I work with 16 X 20 inch canvas and your skies (or as close as I can get to them) adorn my current crop of works. What an amazing talent.
Sound is fine 👌
Just love it Stuart fantastic sky..your also very.witty..."de-baconize the cloud" the sound is perfect...best wishes from Italy..

Hello again Stuart, I seem to keep finding some of your wonderful tutorials that I have not seen before. It's really good to come across these almost by accident when searching through KZread, especially on a weekend, when I can just sit back and observe you working away for hours, on yet another interesting landscape complete with a dramatic sky. Once again a really tranquil, but beautifully captivating sky. I know Lewes quite well having travelled through it many times on the way to Kent. Another interesting section of the south coast, along that route, is Arundel complete with Castle and church and meandering river scenes. Do you ever visit southern England on occasions or are so settled in France that going anywhere else is not an option anymore, lol. Any Stuart, I loved every minute of part two of this video.👍🖐️
Dear Stuart, Your sound is excellent, maybe the person complaining should turn their sound system up. What brands of oil paint do you use? Love the changes in the painting that you did. Many Blessings, Annie Queensland Australia.
I love the dog in the sky clwssic🎨
Troppo figooooi!!! Scena agreste bellissima, gesto pittorico intelligente e inconfondibile, tu sei tu Tutti gli altri....coppioni!
So beautiful l really enjoy these paintings. When you take us thru the two stages of the painting. Point I g out problems. Thank you
Entertaining as always. For me, the Blind Terror was your first brush load of orange paint! I'm one of those painters who never finish anything because I'm afraid of ruining it. Keep up the fantastic work!
OMG ..de- baconize it!! I am enjoying you so very much:)
Another great work of art sir. Greatly appreciative of all the videos you put up. Jus lost my father and trun to get back into painting this has helped.

Sorry to hear that.
Thank you lovely videos much appreciated ... I am extremely grateful that you enable English captions as I am hearing impaired 💗😆
Astounding work ... just a great experience to go through all the way with both videos. Learned more than I've a right to learn and all it cost me was my time. Deepest thanks and gratitude. My spouse says you may be among the greatest artist of all time.. I share their opinion. They also say that I am becoming obsessed with these videos: Like any addict, I hope to share my addiction with those I love.
A couple of very inspirational videos showing useful techniques and elucidating the artist's mental image. I had to smile when Stuart said, "I don't have staff. I've got to do it for myself" because that is the normal situation, not the Andy Warhol factory solution. When creating your own world, it is appropriate to be bold; you are a demi god.
Yes I like, Thank you!
Thank you !!!
