I'm going to watch this one over and over and over. You produced one of the very best videos of the Iridium. Actually, the very best.

Your demos are always excellent! I love your simple approach to showing all facets and yet still keeping it simple for us simpler people. Thank you for always taking time for us. I’ve purchased a few products after watching your presentations and hope that companies can admire how much we value your knowledge. Your are also a tasteful and well rounded guitarist with some great tone! Merry Christmas and thank you!

I loved the display of dynamics on the chime channel. It truly is one of the most dynamic amp models I have ever played.

Well that certainly convinced me to buy one. And the lack of narration was a welcome relief. Will be a practice in my room with headphones on while binging X-Files in closed captioning for sure.

With regards to MIDI use, you can only go "IN" to the Iridium, not "OUT" (dowstream)? Plus you need one of Strymon's proprietary DIN to TRS MIDI cables ($30 each)? Have I got that right? So I couldn't put something like an HX Stomp after it, and control both with the same standard MIDI pedal?

loved the demo. hi everybody, i got a question, this will be decisive for my eventual purchease. I have tried long way all the other technology (like the amp modelling such as line6 pod) and lately the headrush and helix. Which they dont do IR, just modelling. headrush was (on my opinion) embarassing , i ran after 3 seconds, helix was a bit better. My dilemma is playing with headphones / and when this goes straight in the DAW. this turning down the volume guitar knob all the dynamics goes away, goodbye. Even compared to the crappiest tube amp out there. It makes you sound like through a midi plugin. I have tried the Kemper (and naturally 1.500 euros) and it sounded majestic , dynamic was totally preserved , like a real amp does. QUESTION: any experience with this, and opinion how this pedal works in those terms? i would be happy to gather some related info! thank you!!

With a midi controller like the tech midi mouse or mongoose, can this replace drive pedals AND an amp? I do pop variety gigs and wanna replace a positive grid amp head, go directout to the PA and bring a monitor for myself ( qsck10 or jbleon 10 for my vocals and guitar)

To add, I like fender cleans and overdrives, but like vox cleans and drives too

Every guitarist needs an Iridium in their arsenal. It truly is too good to not own, even if you regularly play a tube amp.

Do you need a noise gate with this pedal?

Realize this is a skilled, seasoned guitarist playing on a well intonated, in-tune guitar. Would sound good playing through a POD.

Your playing is better than the sound of the unit. This doesn't sound any better than my Boss GT-1 after I made my own patches and the GT-1 has far more in it.

WTF.... Are you doing any post-processing? If I set mine like yours it is soooooooo BRIGHT I may as well use icepicks to clean my ears. Are these factory IR's or did you load your own? I feel I have a defective unit because none of mine sound ANYTHING like this.

@@jpsatre I thought that too. It sounds great through three other amps I own. I tried different cables even. It sounds great with humbucking guitars, but my single coil guitars sound horrid with it.

@@atech9020 go into the ir's and take the treble down. It's in the computer software. It'll tame the highs.

Hey dudes. Short thing: Iridium with passive oractive DI box? Big sky cabfilter DI (without iridium but with sun set) - active or passive DI? Thx.

Clean sounds are delicious, but honestly, the dirt sounds so digital/fake to my ears :/

Why is the light orange?

Still cant figure out why my Iridium sounds so thin and annoying through my DT-770 Pro.

Maybe because of the impedance of your headphones. Strymon iridium headphone Output is for headphones with an impedance between 30 and 70 Ohm. You can try the Output trimming.

No it is an amp. Think of it as a 2 channel amp and cab all in one.

Hi William. I respect your opin. What makes it suck? Almost every review I've read has the reviewer singing praises for the Iridium. Also ... curious what you would suggest in this price range ($399) that doesn't suck? Seriously ... no dis here ... I want to make sure I'm up on the latest gear. Many thanks.

I am a tube amp guy with an all tube Engl rack system, Engl Savage, Mesa dual rectifier and just recently added a Tremonti head next will be a revv head. I have 1 digital amp a Katana 100 2x12 and the only pre-amp I use with it is a KSR Ceres. But just going off about 3 demos that I have heard I am just not impressed with this pedal at all it sounds thin and very digital to me Been playing for 40 years. For that kind of money no thanks. I don't really care for modelers or cab sims, just not my cup of tea. As for others I only know of the nuenaber neuron and I liked it better than the strymon. Sorry that's the best I can do.
