That is very helpful Kevin. Thanks. I hope you'll find other uses for this slow-motion filming idea. One of your techniques that I struggle with is using the fan brush to make tall-ish grass... I'm thinking about where the fan brush is nearly parallel to the canvas and you crunch up or crunch down.

It also helps to have a nice thick paint, which is also noticeable (to me) at the first slo-mo pull. Love the underpainting with paper towel….also very helpful. Cheers,

The method I previously used previously to get my paint to break is to make the underpainting so thick so that when I apply the white paint it has no choice but to brake (its not a good method if you want to add more details though)

Very interesting. I've been painting for five years now but have never tried to paint with a pallet knife. Do you think that would work as well with acrylics?

What do you call that specific palette knife. I only have the normal pointy ones

Thanks. Does the canvas quality, tooth matter much? I do not want to paint my level of beginner painting on a ?100 canvas lol. But if a higher quality canvas makes a huge difference, it might be worth it.
