Struggles of Second Generation Brazilians in Japan
While Japan has welcomed hundreds of thousand of Brazilian workers into its labor force, the society has not been so welcoming to their children who only know Japan as home.

It was hearbreaking to see all of this. It makes me think a bit more carefully regarding moving to Japan someday in the future... Ver a Sara chorando deu um aperto tão grande no coração :( Espero que ela esteja bem hoje em dia!

In hindsight it was a policy error to accept Japanese Descendants who didn't have basic fluency in Japanese language and culture. Japanese society was traumatized by the high crime rates, violent behavior, and utter disrespect to Japanese culture, traditions, and norms. It was worst by the Brazilian husbands of Japanese Descendants and their off-springs. They really tarnished Brazil's image in Japan. Most other foreign-nationals arrive in Japan as students in language schools, university, or graduate school and find full-time employment afterwards. (Short-term migrant workers from South and Southeast Asia have defined years on their visas.) Japanese Descendants are given special status due to our respect for their ancestry, and there are no visa conditions on their field of work or length of stay, but they can only work in certain fields if they don't have language, culture, or skills/education. This video is a clear demonstration that some of them are failing to adapt and assimilate to Japan, while many people from Mongolia, Russia, South Korea, China, or even Europe are able to master the language, culturally assimilate, and socially integrate. Many of the Brazilians can only survive in their ethnic bubble, which is actually why Japan decided to place basic language requirements from the 4th generation Descendants to arrive in Japan and wish to continue to stay in Japan.
I loved Japan when I was a kid, but now as an adult I can't understand what I ever saw in Japan or it's people!
This reminds me of the "We will give you 200000 yen if you return to Brazil" pamphlets written in Portuguese all over Southern Gunma.
