I made like 5 attempts, and the best solution was to buy a lot of stone, made a lot of square towers, putting there shields with arab archers, balistas, normal archers and crossbows. When you are quite secured from the north and west, you can destroy the lord on the south quite easily and take his gold. Then, buy horse archers, catapults, shields and macemen to destroy lord on the south east. After this game is quite easy.

You just helped me beat this level after hours of fruitless trying! No idea portable shields were so effective

My trick to beat any level in stronghold crusader extreme is: recruit units as many as possible (with minimum of horse archers and ballistas, as your defending and attacking units), and then leave the castle to a safe place along with the lord. Some melee units are looking for the lord, not the castle, and fortunately they're not too many Use a lot of heals to preserve your units

I f hate how they made spawns faster than you can even kill them once spawning goes berserk. So the only way to beat this is to act quickly. Not enjoyable for me.

not bad. never once knew you could put shields up on walls. its more cost effective to actually buy hops (or barrels in a pinch) for inns and eliminate food all together +8 ale, -8 food, all while not affecting the size of your population. It's also more cost effective to turn the iron into swords or shields and then selling it for even more profit. This mission was the hardest of any other imo.

also another side note. you can pause the game in between every step and allows you to manipulate the time more... some things like buying or selling goods can be done while in paused mode.

Excellent defensive strat ! Improvements I found while trying it out : Keep population to 50 and rely on ale No stones just iron (less burnable buildings and less mouths to feed/get drunk) When I saw stability in the process I switched for gold instead of stonerain I tried reloading for the one-shot-stonerain takedown of outposts Condemned the back gate with a drawbridge cuz with time some units try taking down the gate The outposts back of the castle set the 2 on the right on fire with slaves way easier Two lookout towers left n right of the end of the path of fire with mire firethrowers (a little more range) and a square tower where u put urs work way better The wall of towers is an excellent idea btw just mind the gaps and dupe the ballistae AI (they fire in the order in which u build with last input as main target) Great strat and tbh the only legit way I saw that demanded actual strategy !

Oh yea Added a tower where your trebuchets didn't work and left the nazir as my last takedown (the wall of towers is way more than enough)

Hi Sergiu, I have seen couple of videos of yours. It seems to me you have a solid understanding of castle defense, but you never do early attacks, rushes at game starts In case of this maps you can knock out the enemy at bottom right by simply attacking with the 10 swords man. The upper right can be eleminated by 50 maceman, just disband the light infantry, and there will be enough peasant to be drafted. Certainly the attacking troops should be supported by "air strikes". As a result you will have 2 enemies defeated just right after the map start.

This does not always mean "the hard way". Early attacks require spending resources on macemen or other attack troops which can be completely useless afterwards. Moreover, you spend time which can be spent on micro-managing the economy and defence instead, so this is a tradeoff. I like it how he just closed off a portion of his castle with tall towers to protect it from the blue player and funneled enemy troops like cattle into a long and narrow passage.

If you want to be cheap, you should rush the Nizar as soon as possible and steal his Golds. After getting a quick gold boost, proceed to destroy the spawn camps/straight to the Lords (if possible) and make the mission alot easier. If you're really desperate, just block the gate and/or spawn camp with ox/woodcutter so they cant send any troops/start an economy LOL.

The most difficult mission, a real challenge. One has to defeat as many enemies as possible at the very beginning with 25-30 macemen. Afterwards we need to defend ourselves with dozens of archers while trying to destroy outposts with magic bar.

Hey DevylProductions , there are many players that can defeat me, but, I understand the game pretty well and I learn tactics very fast, which, yes, could make me one of the very good players, but I am not the very best, because I always wanted to have fun, not to win. :)

I'm too lazy to build and position shields all the time.

Yo could have destroyed 2 mercenart post in the left upper cornor with 2 stones as they are close enough.

doing beer would be better than buying food

all armies r attacking the keep u can simply move the king away in safe area with some soldiers and make them occupy the castle then destroy all soldiers training areas then back to the castle and build it again and u won

Ive beaten this level without doing it.. It took me a few tries, but it's not *that* difficult to beat this level.

1) you could not build the towers because enemies were too close despite the moat. 2) when fire fully blocks off the entrance they think it is impassable and might start digging the moat or attacking the wall. (they attack the gate because it means they can go round the moat of course) 3) can you really build buildings without a walkway?

I wasn't cheating, what you see is the only way I found usefull. Even if I was burning them,I gave them a way in, I don't see any reason they should dig moats when they could simply walk through fire. :)

I have know idea why am Watching this

This mission is not that hard. I rushed 1 enemy south and then build couple of square towers around my keep and left one narrow path to the keep enterance. Ballistas and mass crossbowmen easily defeated any ranged enemy force and fire throwers blasted any melee attacks going through narrow path to the keep. "Meteor shower" then destroyed all military posts. Easy peasy :-)

WTF i compeleted this mission in 20 mins

heres my attempt, do these deffense and then start pushing with maceman about 80-100 and rush yellow,when done do the other lords using maceman and stone valleys rinse and repeat. easy win :D

how do u get food and tons of gold if u all time were fortified and no build farms?

1 way is too mine lots of ore and stone and sell it and then buy food. Also, food just equates to total popularity only. They do not actually need to eat if you can find other ways to keep popularity high with tax bribes, religion and ale, then you dont need to provide food.

Carlos Calderon Ive found its easier to just buy the kegs of ale ( beer) instead of making it. Then build 4 inns to get max coverage.. then I dont need to even bother with any farms as they seem just as content to never eat but keep drinking.

I have very fast and smart tactics and strategies in playing this game, I finish this mission in just through 1hour and 9 minutes with kill 30538 of the enemy's soldiers opposite 1896 killed of my soldiers.

Yea i bought on steam (art of war) the pack that has Cossacks 2 and american conquest with the other cossacks. it downloaded really quickly surprisingly VERY fun game i enjoy the editor and making little wars.Glad you did an LP on it!

game speed shouldn't be less than 40 for fairness :)

I beat this shit after like 10 trys and that's to.many for me! 1 rush nizar 2 kill scorpion asap 3 then destroy near enemy outpost and drag the game so you destroy their post with the stone power

The first thing he did was make that open path on the left side of his castle. Once theres an open path, the AI thinks theres no need to fill moats and break walls and is a sucker for taking that route and will be susceptible to heavy bombardment along the path.

@@MrBeard17 This strategy was strong in vanilla Stronghold and is even stronger in Crusader beacuse of fire throwers. Any melee force could be easily destroyed by this strategy.

John Games i just installed stronghold crusaders and tested it i got my bot opponent down to 3 gold and no wood...then i did the would cutters trick and he deleted all building (he got wood bacl from that) then i moved away he rebuild and i did it again....i got him down to 2 gold 1 wood and no buildings.....then left it running when to sleep and he has his cassle back....fucking cheater lol

The first couple of times I won this mission, I did it much the way you're doing it-- Turtle up and use the rock bombs to kill the mercenary outposts. But, later, I figured out I could rush to victory. The swordsmen with some archer support are enough to take out the enemy closest to you if you send them to attack right at start. Then, I built crossbows to guard my gate and then started building mace men while I waited for the rock bomb to charge up. Then, run the mace men toward the enemy castle, rock bomb down a tower and send the mace men in to kill the lord. Rinse and repeat for each enemy castle. It was a much easier victory, but I admit that it felt a bit against the spirit of the game.
