What's up

Okay, so this video is PACKED with symbolism. For you non-French speakers, Stromae's basically singing about a woman's perspective in a tumultuous relationship while simultaneously talking about a man's perspective of just wanting sex. Hence the pink lighting when he takes the role as a woman and the greenish blue for the man. He also sings about the woman's insecurities of wanting kids but the man not ready to be a father nor wanting "her" anymore when she grows old and ugly. At the end of the video, the model is basically Stromae's feminine side portraying how both the man and woman are frustrated in the relationship. The outro essentially translates to "All the same, we're all fed up."

The stereotypes are something natural that humans did because of the differences of the 2 main genders (male and female). Obviously they can be questioned but they were done because of the human being

I mean, it's also a biological thing, not only stereotypes. Girls tend to be more delicate in their movements than men. And also being more nurturing while men tend to be more the "hunter" of the family in a way, working for the family. It's actually been proven that in countries with more inclusive societies that allow women and men to be whatever they want, they actually end up making the difference gap between genders bigger, something that surprised a lot of people.

I see some people think this music video is about LGBT relationship, but when you read the lyrics and analyzed the music video, its actually not. The song (and music video) is about the perspective of a fed up wife and a cheating husband. Basically, Stromae is playing both the wife and the husband. In the beginning, we see husband Stromae with a blonde girl, the next scene wife Stromae wakes up next to "the husband". Wife Stromae starts ranting about their failing marriage while husband Stromae kept cheating with the blonde girl. Next verse, we see that the fed up wife Stromae is talking about the future when her husband will leave her, so before that, she started looking for other men too before "her god given beauty will fade". In the end husband Stromae and wife Stromae are dancing together because now they are both the same. I love the uniqueness of this music video and I love seeing Stromae interpreting the feminine side really well.

Unfortunately Stromae got the nastiest side effects of mefloquine. Depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety and so on. He went public with this about 3 years ago, and explains that's the reason he quit making music. However he wanted to leave it open whether he would make music in the future. So right now he is low profile, focusing on his clothing line and his family.
