Strolling Through Boston Public Garden and Common | June 16 Walking Tour

Join us on a delightful stroll through the historic Boston Public Garden, established in 1837, and the adjacent Boston Common. On this sunny June 16, the garden is in full bloom, offering a vibrant and serene atmosphere perfect for a leisurely walk.
We start our journey with a special moment as I appear on camera for the first time, sharing the beauty and history of the garden. As we wander through the lush pathways, we pause to reflect at the serene 9/11 Memorial, a poignant tribute amidst the natural splendor.
Our walk takes an exciting turn when we come across our favorite one-man band. Performing "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" and "Lord, I Was Born A Travelin' Man," he impresses with his harmonica, guitar, drums, and a rotating stage adorned with bells and whistles. This captivating performance adds a lively rhythm to our exploration. If you enjoy his music, you can support him on Venmo at @professorworldband.
Next, we explore the charming little rose garden and admire the iconic George Washington statue. As we continue, we marvel at the flowers lining the path to the picturesque Public Garden Foot Bridge. Once on the bridge, we pause to watch the duck boats making their trip out to duck island and back. Amidst these sights, we come across a man playing an accordion and a "balloon man" crafting animals out of balloons.
Navigating through the maze of tourists, street artists, and people walking their dogs and kids, we make our way out of the Garden and head towards the Boston Common.
On the way across the street, I share the story of the Boston Common's origins, founded in 1634. At the entrance of the Common, we see food carts and the monument commemorating John Paul II's visit in 1979. We then walk along the paths past the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, stopping at the Boston Common Carousel to watch the kids ride (which will be featured in another short).
We proceed to the Soldiers and Sailors Monument to appreciate the details at the base and the statues, reading the inscriptions that tell their story. Continuing our walk through the Common, we enjoy people-watching until we encounter the Boston Park Rangers and their horses, tied to a trailer for the time being.
Our next stop is the Brewer Fountain, where we admire the intricate figures adorning it. As we head towards the Park Street Station, we capture some good views of the gold dome of the Massachusetts State House. At the end of our walk, we see a couple of young men creating art on the sidewalk with chalk and finish with a look at the historic Park Street Church.
It's a day filled with history, music, and the simple joy of being outdoors.
