Great ideas!
This is a very good video. Lots of other coaches explain complex and difficult exercises that very good but very difficult to perform. The advice in this video is simply to involve your affected arm and hand as much as possible. That's it, and it is the most important advice of all.

This is some great tips, I been doing some movement with my affected arm but their is alot more I can do. Right now I been close the door to the car holding my toothbrush and flicking the light switch on than off and also pushing food on the Fork. Thank a lot.

Awesome video , both briefed and showed how to go about the exercise. In my case my left arm is very weak. Will add this to my routine.

Hi! Can't emphasis enough to keep moving that arm/shoulder/hand with ranging, massaging, tapping, talking to it, visualizing it moving and doing normal activities, and using it as a stabilizer. I like to think of it as YOU are controlling the arm, the arm isn't controlling you or your life!

What about subluxation shoulder it very hard to move shoulder and arm
I'm at the very beginning. I can't type or move my hand, but I have been attempting to brush my teeth with my right hand with the left assisting and as I'm an artist, having my right arm stable the paper as I color images with my left, I'm thinking about trying to draw (that's what I did for years before the stroke) knowing I will not be able to do fine drawing yet. I just don't know how to stop that spasticity that over rides my movement making the fingers curl in.

You can try using the foam cylinder for the pencil amzn.to/3xnlpsD or wrap the pencil in washcloth and tape onto the pencil. That way you have a better grasp and will prevent fingers from curling in. I think that's a great idea to try something you used to do - just start with small expectations...maybe abstract art...and build from there. Good luck!

Hi my fingers are stil not moving. It's been 1 year now

Hello. I really appreciate your videos. This is an excellent video. I would say I am at the gross assist stage right now. Trying to work on the next level. I'm left handed normally. .I was wondering have you had a stroke and recovered. You seem to understand. I was very strong before the stroke in October 2022. I could Lift £50 bags of horse feed, no problem. Stack 3 Bales. I lost my horses dogs. Chickens, everything that meant everything to me. I'm back at my mini ranch alone. Working out everyday. I lost use of my left hand. And my leg, I have foot drop. I workout all the time. If I miss even half a day, my arm gets tight. I'm a fighter. But I get very depressed and alternate with massive sadness, because my whole purpose Was my animals? And I do not want to live. In a residential neighborhood. I even used to type over 100 words a minute. I turned on the voice to text today. I'm very worried. But worry doesn't help I know.

It's not easy being thrust into a new way of living...of being. I think it's so important that, no matter what your limitations, you find something you can do and enjoy the present life you have. If you love animals, can you get a small pet that you can care for? Be creative and don't let your expectations of how you "should be" stop you. You are more capable than you give yourself credit for, I'm sure!

I have to master having a puppy before I can have anything else And I fortunately live in a beautiful place with hummingbirds. Deer bunnies, So thank goodness I. Be around them, but I'm very sad, but I really miss my horses a lot and my dog.
Fresh on stroke recovery, but my deltoids muscles have come down hence its pain ful to move my arm high or fold properly and even if I move my fingers ....the moment I become aware I am moving my fingers, it stiffens and I am no longer move anything

Without seeing you, it is difficult to really know what is going on. With that said, sounds like you may not have good mobility in your scapula which is causing pain during arm raises. Check out this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fnerwcR7gpq9ZJM.html It also sounds like you may be getting some spasticity, which is locking your fingers up. If that is the case, then continue to stretch, stretch, stretch them out regularly. You can also use mental imagery to help relax them. The goal is to not only relax the spastic muscles but to activate the opposite muscles. Please check out my other videos for ideas about doing these things. Let me know how things work out!
