Strobepro Rapid V-Flat

SPECIAL NOTE
Please note that we have updated the Black/White fabric so it no longer has the bungee toggles shown in the video. Feedback from customers was that they were a little annoying to deal with. Instead we've woven a rigid polymer into the corners for ease of use.
A TRANSPORTABLE SOLUTION
Traditional V-flats are fragile and unwieldly-not exactly qualities you're looking for on a road trip. The Strobepro Rapid V-Flat will become your new favourite travel companion, setting up or packing down into its convenient carry bag in under a minute.
BOUNCE OR NEGATIVE FILL
The included fabric is black on one side, and reflective white on the other. Simply flip your assembled V-flat panels around to change their function. Use them for bounce, negative fill, or as go-betweens. Once you start using V-flats you'll wonder how you ever went without them!
EXCELLENT VALUE
Cost is usually what causes photographers to resort to foam core over purpose-built V-flats. Our V-Flats come in at an aggressive price-point and with additional features not found on competing products. Strobepro wants to democratize these amazing tools!
FREE-STANDING
Like all V-flats, the Strobepro Rapid V-flat can stand up using the fold between the two panels as its base. Unique to the Rapid V-flat, its included feet allow each half to stand on its own. Separate your panels without the need for clamps and extra rigging to hold them in position, or swing your panels all the way open for maximum surface area.
EXTRA HEIGHT
At 2.4 m (almost 8 feet), these V-flats are taller than the competition while still fitting under standard 8-foot ceilings. You'll really appreciate that extra bit of verticality when shooting taller subjects.
OPTIONAL DIFFUSION FABRIC
Want to use your new V-flat frame as a translucent scrim? It'd seem a waste not to offer that option. The material provides 1/4 stop diffusion. Select the optional diffusion fabric from the dropdown menu for a modest extra cost.

Is there any images or media that demonstrates the update? Given some of the negativity heard about it I’m holding off until I can analyse the product myself. Given I know the video is showing a product that is not identical to what I would get, I won’t even consider buying.

After only having foam boards to use, these panels have been a complete Godsend. Easy to set up, hella light in weight and the bounce results are killer. You’ll love yourself for buying these.

I own a set of V-Flats from the unspoken company and they have been a complete pain. i keep them in a climate controlled environment and 7 months after purchase they were warped?! I mean really warped! The company gave me some lame excuse about wear and tear, which might have been good if was using them daily, or even weekly, but they are occasionally used and stored folded upright. Thanks for coming up with a much better mouse trap!

These are great. The gaps between the panels can be closed by overlapping the frames front to back rather than side to side. In the 90’s I used plastic frames like these but they all eventually broke. It’s exciting to see a light, affordable, metal option. I will be ordering soon. (I know I sound too excited - I honestly have nothing to do with this company).

Can you explain how to close the gaps between two panels. I am not sure I understand what you mean by front to back vs side to side

@@Lucy-dk5cz I haven’t ordered these panels yet, but I had many of this type of panels back in the 90’s. I will try to explain. Rather than set the panels side by side, overlap them 1 inch. The clips are oriented front to back rather than side to side. Another way to say it is if the panels are making a wall that runs west to east, overlap the panels with the clips connecting them oriented north to south. Hope that helps.

@@DK-ys2cw I think I know what you mean. Rather than have the clip going away from the the edge, on one of the panels have the clip face go towards its centre to offer so overlap.

I think the tubes should be held together with internal bungee cord instead of having to mess with all the button lock joints. The feet might be permanently attached and only require a twist to put into use by using a spring detent. The units are too tall, they're too close to a standard 8 foot ceiling. Make them about 6 to 12 inches shorter to avoid damaging client ceilings.

We appreciate the feedback! The basic structure of the frame isn't likely to change because we want to keep the product at a low price point, but we've heard the call for a shorter version of the Rapid V Flat.

I honestly think it’s a cop out by Strobepro and their manufacturer messed up. In the video they’re showing a prototype. Or show me five actual users that bought these with the tie not their influencers… moderated reviews on the website are no good either. How can they have decided “based on customer feedback” that the ties were to cumbersome to deal with, if I (and you) received the very first batch that was ever shipped?! They just called their manufacturer in china, told them not to sew those in anymore, have a new container shipped over during Chinese new year and then shipped those out? Give me a break 😂

Interesting. But what about using the Strobepro V-Flats as a table-style reflector. i.e. white side folded in half and sitting on top of subject's lap. How would Strobepro do this?

  • @Strobepro

    @Strobepro

    Жыл бұрын

Very precariously, I imagine. 😂 We'd recommend getting a simple 5-in-1 reflector to compliment our Rapid V-flat if you're worried about that use case. It's also worth mentioning that a single sheet of foam core is probably better than a full on V-flat if you need a simple bounce board. Traditional V-flats need to be folded up before they can be wielded as small reflectors.

Please please make a product similar to photoflex PVC litepanel…they do it aluminum now and it is a turn off because PVC is safer especially around kids, I am hunting whatever shows up on eBay ( zero chance so far) , so make it and it will out sell this clumsy set up…..the tension cord inside the frame will ensure easy in instant erection of the frame and instant take down and the connectors are so simple …no screws not nothing , just click the frames together with the plastic connectors and done deal….please make it in pVC. Dean Collins used them (p22 made by bogen ?).
