Strobe is one of the few _"EDM"_ bangers that I think even classical greats like Beethoven would've heard and went "hell yeah."
The fact the crowd instantly knew from the first note; that's a good sign of a timeless classic
This performance honestly just showcases what a true masterpiece Strobe has always been.

It's very well known that what Deadmau5 did when he created this track is produce what is possibly one of the greatest Electronic tracks of all time, and quite possibly the greatest. It really is a masterpiece.
Imagine being Joel and hearing your music that you made on a computer in a loft 15 years ago being played by a full symphony orchestra and being cheered on by a concert hall full of your fans.
I appreciate that he wears a jacket and tie just like the rest of the orchestra that's respect and class. Bravo

He sent an email to all of us who had tickets prior saying that he would be dressing up, and it would be nice if we did too... I had already flown into town and didn't have anything nice, so I ran over to Nordstrom (in BEVERLY HILLS) to get stuff to wear. Was the one time in my life that I ever splurged on clothes.

Strobe is meant to feel like meditation, tranquility and solitude. Hard to get that effect with a bunch of hooting and hollering.

The right moment of time to exist
When your track, from a genre oft-derided by "real musicians", can be arranged for an orchestra like that I think Joel occasionally having an ego the size of a planet is absolutely and rightfully deserved. I've often wondered what Strobe would sound like played by an orchestra and, f__k me, that did not disappoint. Beautiful and spectacular!

The guy's a creative genius. (Drop's mic). Also, this orchestra and conductor, Congradulations. This sounded so beautiful. See what really happens when a colab happens... =D

This is mesmerizing! I just now hear this beautiful master piece! So happy that he connected the dots to create a symphony version. I love this song so much-. Joel.is sure a Genious !
words cant describe the emotions I felt hearing this song for the first time 16 fucking years ago.
Joel's music was always bittersweet. There was soul to it. While he does make bangers. He's made some pretty tender songs. Strobe is an anthem that resonates within my generation, back when the edm revolution blew up 2007-2014(around that imo). It was a song that left you with good memories. Those times were beautiful, genres broke the norm, pushed the envelope. Sadly all good things end some time, at least for now. It's died down a bit, at least from what I can see. But anyway, this performance encapsulates why Joel Zimmerman is a legend, a great guy, and a true artist. Not bad for a guy who started out in a crappy apartment in Toronto. It's amazing how far he's come.
when it starts, I just can't help but sing NIN's Ringfinger: "Well you got me working so hard lately, working my hands until they bleed, if I was twice the man I could be, I'd still be half of what you need. Still you lead me and I follow, anything you ask you know I'll do, this one act of consecration, is what I ask of you".

He is a NIN fan if I am not mistaken? The melody is sort of similar. Good catch.

So full of strong emotion from hearing this 😫 Thanks for posting
When I saw that piano I was like yeah that's the perfect instrument for this piece and then the strings just blew me away. Since its release I think this is his greatest piece with so much variety, dramaturgy and just overall potential... this piece is incredible.. The only time I heard someone coming this close to electronic made, vs. classic style music was the Daft Punk Album for the Tron movie. Just a testament to Joels genius.
