Got a 9 foot Tica TC2 surf rod and diawa eliminator 4500 ( like BG) with 30# braid. Had to pick whats available with CV19 clearing out tackle shops. Surf fishing in NH. Keep up the great work.

Fall run is hitting our beaches on eastern shores of canada. Been landing high 20 to 35 inch bass on the Penn Prevail rod you recommended. Hopefully I'll land a nice 40+ soon. Tight lines.

How's your SaltX hold up? Looking for something that can handle some accidental dunks in the surf and people have said Van Staal is worth the extra ~$300 but I'm usually really happy with Tsunami gear.

Hey Chris! I bought my SaltX 4000 in June, brought it to Montauk, and ended up busting some stuff internally which led to a "grinded down" area on the main frame of the reel. Needless to say I am currently awaiting the arrival of my VS200SXP lol....If you have the money, and plan on fishing a ridiculous amount of time, just get the Van Staal. I've literally gone up the chain of reels, from all different price points, and for a dependable surf reel/montauk reel, I've upgraded to the Van Staal... I hope this help you a little. Honestly man, I busted it out there this week. Internal parts grinding, took it apart, and the internal main frame is grinded down past restoring...lasted me 3 months 😬😬
