Thanks for your support. The more subscribers, the more motivation and time I can put towards videos, even with a full time job. See you guys soon!
I wasn’t able to find any info online on repairing/replacing the pull cord on these newer front side mounted weedwackers. The pull cord is mounted between the motor and the pole. So I decided to post a video that may help make it a little easier for someone. Sorry for the poor video quality.
This is a wc210 25cc craftsman trimmer. But as far as I can tell, there are many makes and models with the same set up. Bolens bl110; bl160, Troy bilt tb25; tb22;, yard machines y765; y25t, craftsman ws205; ht2200; ws4200; ws2200; and probably many more models.
This video is intended for informational and educational purposes only. I want to stress the importance of safety when working with tools. Always exercise caution and follow proper safety guidelines when handling tools or attempting any repairs. The methods and techniques demonstrated in this video are performed by a trained individual with experience. However, it is crucial to note that there is always some level of risk involved when working with tools and machinery.
If you're unsure about any aspect of a repair or don't have the necessary experience, it's strongly recommended that you seek professional advice or assistance. Attempting repairs without proper knowledge can be dangerous and may result in injury or damage to tools and equipment.

This video is so chopped up its useless. The guy skipps over IMPORTANT issues that a person trying to fix his trimmer would need to know. The MAIN ISSUE is the way Craftsman designed the pull starter. The entire starter assembly is made of PLASTIC. There is a lone steel retainer washer that is tasked with keeping everything together. My retainer worked its way up the shaft and allowed the spring arm to escape its retainer hole in the housing. Once that happens, the spring unwinds itself and the pull cord just falls out. Any good mechanic can figure it out. I am using a small amount of EPOXY to hold my retainer lock in place.

THIS. If you just put the retainer back, it will likely just come off again. I think at the very least you would need a new retainer - these are single use. I was thinking about how to fix this. Would rather not epoxy, but may go that route.

@SHONEY21Z
10 ай бұрын
Once the pulley is in, with the string fully pulled out, you need to grab the string from the pulley side, between the pulley and the plastic housing, an pull enough of the loop inward so you can wind the spring. Hook the rope into the little notch on the pulley and rotate clockwise about 5 turns (depending on how long the rope is). Then hold the pulley in place, it’ll now have tension, and make sure the rope is fully pulled out and slow the pulley to unwind, which will pull the rope back in.
I discovered that the crank cover can be removed then you have two holes in your counterweight in the crank put piston rod in between both of those holes and then put a torx with a handle on one or both sides of the connecting rod and it will hold it in place while you loosen everything.

It’s hard to hear and I didn’t do a good job explaining but If you shove some rope or pull cord down the spark plug hole and fill up the cylinder space with rope, the piston can’t turn over and locks the motor in place. Then you can turn the torx screw and remove the clutch bell housing.

Yeah sucks because I have this trimmer but I took it all apart but the video is just not detailed enough to help so just look around there are other videos. I pretty much figured it out in my own the video is sort of helpful but I’m order to remove the clutch screw you have to remove the spark plug, put some string into the hole and fill it kinda so when the piston travels up it locks in place so you can remove the screw. It’s a normal lefty loosey screw.

Are you sure it’s a T15? Some ppl say their trimmer had a Phillips screws. If it is torx, are you sure the screw isn’t stripped? If it’s unscrewed but never came out, that’s because the screw is built into the clutch drum and you just need to pull it off. And finally, make sure you have something blocking the piston or the piston will just go up and down as you turn the screw

@@Andrea_loves_makeupis he able to see down the hole with a flashlight? Make sure someone didn’t replace the bolt with something other than a torx. If it is a torx and it is stripped it’s going to be tricky. There are ez out bits but the opening is so narrow it’s be hard to get an extension down. The other thing would be a small flathead screwdriver, smaller than a t15 torx bolt, hammer it down into the grove that’s stripped and try turning it. Something is hanging up. Is the spring in correctly? Is the road too big/long? Is the retaining washer on and in the right place? Did the inner white recoil sit into the larger one correctly? If all of that is fine, then it could be something with the clutch. Maybe you missed a washer or something. Check the longer version of this repair in the description, there’s more detail
