Sending you best wishes - my kiddos are all grown up now but I will never forget how challenging some of those days (and nights) were

It's adorable that Tiberius and Darcy play with the tiny scraps - sounds like a perfect way to reuse! Also, I didn't realize that frogging could be a natural process/step in knitting. I always assumed that frogging back meant failure, but it seems like it's a good way to slow down and adjust!

Cat interruptions are the best interruptions! Great video, really enjoy the break downs you do, and looking forward to see what you get up to in 2024.

you have wonderful taste in choosing colors that look great on you. The blue Oslo is so happy and cheerful and you and Darcy will be so adorable in the lite brite mittens. I think I'll try to squeeze in a pair of those mittens for my granddaughters . Who needs baking and decorating when you can knit?!?!?

The fold on the Oslo hat always needs to be so much bigger/longer than you think (in my opinion. Every time I think it’s long enough and then at the end I wish I’d done more!

Thanks for the heads-up about the bleeding. So far I haven't experienced it, but I also haven't used any of their reds yet.

I think this Moby sits amazingly well on you! I personally really like that it doesn't look as oversized as some of the other Mobys one keeps seeing. What a lucky strike, in my opinion. 😊 But sure, everybody is different ❤

The Paul Sweater is so cute!! I added it to my queue :). Lol I’m also team push-up bra. I’m a bit thicker and my chest is a bit smaller so I find that having a little bit of oomp helps my silhouette! No shame! Loved the vlog, wishing your family happiness and health during the holiday season! ☺️

Super job on the Moby. It looks amazing on you. What shop did you get Host Garn from? Being from Van I love that you find good pricing on yarns from other vendors. (that is work in itself). And yes our dollar sucks. Did you pay duty on the yarn? Love your podcasts. Thanks for your dedication to your podcasts.

Thank you! I purchased directly from Holst Garn (Denmark). It was a Black Friday sale and totally worth it imo. I didn't pay any duty (value of shipment was $59 USD). Shipping was over $20 but I still saved a lot ($113 CAD including shipping vs. $200+ locally). Thanks so much for watching!

Yes! I ordered some gorgeous hand dyed yarn online. On screen it looked red. It arrived and is definitely not red not even a little more of a deep blush pink. I will still knit with it, but pink isn't really my color. So, maybe a gift knit.

Hey! I agree with you on Moby sweater points...XS pattern schematics are correct and I also got a tighter fit then stated. I like it. Also a front edge was not perked up comparing to back.

I'm interested in following your KFO sweater. I've wanted to cast that on for a long time but the price of KFO is a bit high for me. I haven't used Holst super soft because I'm afraid of the scratchy, itchy factor. I hope you do one of your wonderful features on this project.

Hi Mel….love your podcasts. Is you have mitten yarn left over….you may want to knit a third one for Darcy just in case she loses one…..just saying…🥹.

Thank you! That's an excellent idea. I do have quite a bit leftover, not sure if it's enough, but I will set it aside in case she loses a mitten.

I adore your Haley sweater, and managed to track down the pattern in Finnish, but the short rows thing is confusing! I really appreciate your video as at least I have an educated guess on how this works- My understanding is you knit the 3 stitches, then turn and do a 3 stitch short row back the other way, then knit the 3 stitches again + chart etc... so essentially you have 2 rows of edge banding to 1 row of chart??? Is this a standard technique you've seen in other patterns? I would consider buying someone else's pattern just to have a more thorough explanation of the technique, do you know of any? Does My Favorite Things Knitwear do this with their Levitate Wrap pattern? Love your channel, esp as a stay at home mom of 3, my youngest is 3 is I get great ideas from your projects.

Thank you! Use of short rows is pretty common, however, in that pattern it seems strange because of the location: the 3 stitches. (You're right btw, 2 rows to 1 chart row). After doing it, I now understand it's a nice way to get the shaping done without having to do it on the charted rows ie. Not having to do short rows on the cables) The Levitate Wrap does not have short rows and uses increases for the shaping. You will find short rows in some of her other patterns, such as blouse 1 for example.

I made sure to leave a long yarn tail when starting the thumb which I used to close any gaps later.

Interesting that you say that the rather short instructions from Sandnes, for example, take some getting used to if you are used to the long instructions from individual designers. For me it was exactly the opposite. When I started knitting 11 years ago, I only had such magazines at my disposal and so I was used to working with these very brief instructions. When I started again a year ago after a long break from knitting and came into contact with the knitting community, I was unhappy with the comparatively overwhelmingly detailed instructions. I had the feeling that I didn't have a good overview and that I wasn't progressing as quickly, as I still had 4 pages to work on (as opposed to 1 paragraph). I'm still not entirely happy with very extensive instructions, but I can manage with both. Times are changing...🧶☺

I started knitting the "long type" of instructions and was thinking of anyone who may have started knitting that way too. I used to have the opposite thinking to you and would see the short instructions and say "that's it?", as if things were missing haha. I'm at a level where I can manage both now.
