Stretched Jeep LJ Build Gets Full Hydro Steering!

On this episode of the Lite Brite Winter Chronicles - More progress is finally made on Bec's custom stretched Jeep LJ build! Specifically, welding the truss onto the axle and fabricating the mount and skid for the full hydro steering setup! Slowly but surely, the build is coming together!

Busy Winter schedule, and there has to be interruptions by actually driving those vehicles! No worries, Bec; some people just have to find something to “pant” over! So much fabricating, so much fun! Chris always seems to see problems before they creat trouble and knows how to fix them. LiteBriteNationTrussYouCanTrust!

This channel is loaded with cool vehicles but the LJ is the one I’m wanting to see the most. I’ve see guys running Dodge D60’s and they all have those angled steering rods and it just looks like it would kill ram seals..the extra effort to tip that pan up is a smart move! Chris the fact that you have no compromise when comes to stuff like this is a great trait..you just can’t settle for anything halfassed and it shows in the final product. I’m look at upgrading from my MM250 and I thought you guys had a new multi-process Miller …you love it or are there anything that you would change about it?

Another fun video, full of awesomeness. I even laughed. Can't believe people would think anyone would weld with exposed skin, but it puts a whole new spin into welding. The axle looks like a beast. Love the mods, thinking it through and the adapting. Chris's calculations and knowledge, with Beck's welding skills and charm make such a great team. Can't wait to see this build working on the trails. You all know I quit my Sunday job as to not miss your Sunday morning videos.

These comments are mostly to Bech, cause I see her welding the most. I am retired welder and I have COPD. I can't prove its from the welding but I notice you usually are directly above your welds and therefore in the smoke stream. Please check into getting a respirator that rides on your back or one that fits under your hood. I am 77 and I hate to see young people exposing themselves to potential harm. God bless you guys take care and be safe. Love your build videos.

I have one of those forced air heaters in my garage. They do a good job. If yours is like mine, it can burn multiple fuels. If you can burn kerosene instead of diesel, it will burn a little cleaner which is good for a closed in space.

Yep those big ole heaters work...but they have 1 output. But you may be able to add a temp control for it if it will light itself. But they have fumes, consume oxygen and expel Carbon Monoxide too...NOT good. If you get it temp controlled you can connect the cord to a smart outlet and program it to fire up in the morning say 1 hr before starting in there...That's the good life...walk into a warm shop. I got a regular forced air furnace and had a plenum built for the top with basically a big hole in the front. The furnace sits about 5' off the floor so I still have storage under it. Then the plenum angles down a little. A regular Tstat operates it. I had Nat Gas available and use that but a Propane tank is just about as easy...furnace just has to be setup for it.

Lol. I am an analyst by trade and we have a legacy program that no longer works that I had to recently redesign. Someone in 1980s wrote in programming code "must wear pants" so it appears on splash screen when you started the program. I thought it was korny as hell but tradition must go on and I wrote that into my model when I programmed it this year. #gottawearpants To Kevin: Might want to look at Mini Split HVAC systems. Quiet. Energy efficient. Good for recording things in the shop because you can't hear them.

Hey you guys may know this but don’t try to paint full vehicles with automotive paint and that diesel heater going. That will cause fisheyes in the paint regardless of where the heat is located at. The heater gives off tiny particles of diesel that stick in the paint causing the fisheyes.

@Kevin If you plan to stay at this shop location, why not put in a forced air furnace or radiant heating, it would keep the shop from heat Cycling and will cut down of temperature spikes from the heater being off over night. It really isn't that expensive to Install forced air heat.
