STRESA. The Best Place to go in ITALY. (Lake District)
We spend an afternoon exploring the islands of Stresa! Situated in Northern Italy, Stresa is on Lake Maggiore and surrounded by the Alps! Stresa has a few different islands and we visited two of them.
We started on Isola dei Pescatori (Fisherman’s Island) where we had a pizza lunch and then explore the small streets. We also flew our drone to get some great overhead footage of the island.
We then made our way over to Isola Bella to spend some time in the palace and the amazing gardens, which are supposed to be one of the best examples of Italian gardens in all of Italy. While there we encountered white peacocks for the first time.

Internationally recognised as the jewel of Lake Maggiore, Stresa is one of the most exclusive tourist destinations on Lake Maggiore.In addition to millions of tourists, the Borromean Islands also enchanted Stendhal, Liszt, and Mendelssohn. Dumas recalled them in “The Count of Montecristo”, Turner and Corot represented them in oil paintings and watercolours, D’Annunzio even tried to rent one. Just across from the town of Stresa (in Italy), the archipelago is easily accessible in just few hours by ferryboat from Locarno or Ascona. It consists of three islands: Isola Bella with its grandiose mansion and terraced gardens, Isola Madre with its luxurious English park, and Isola dei Pescatori, a picturesque fishing village boasting an ancient atmosphere.
Isola dei Pescatori (Fisherman’s Island): It is the smallest and quaintest of the three islands, and the only one with permanent residents. The restaurants on the island offer menus based on the typical cuisine of the lake.
Isola Bella (Beatiful Island): dominated by its magnificent Baroque palazzo, which is accompanied by a luxuriant Italian-style garden laid out over ten terraces, 37 meters high. The garden displays exotic plants of great rarity and many strikingly lovely flowers, alongside statues, fountains and the Unicorn, depicted in the coat-of-arms of the aristocratic Borromeo family. There are also beautiful white peacocks, free to roam the gardens, which with their regal bearing contribute to giving Isola Bella the flavour of past times.

I agree Stresa, Italy is worth the trip. The Borromeo Islands are so beautiful, the gardens are amazing. Visit Lake Orta and San Giulio Island which are gems.
Stresa is a Little expensive, but wonderful. I always remind the Journey with my girlfriend, when she was alive. I cry thinking of these places

Fell in love with Stresa in May 2002. Was lucky to live nearby for a short time. Have been back many times. Pity you rushed the palace, has great history and the grotto rooms are amazing.

You have great taste and you can appreciate and discover these gems outside common tourist circuit, . Italy is more than Rome Florence Venice packed of tourists. You are on another level than other travellers compliments, from Italy.

The Borromeo family was a nobile family not Royal prince for whom the Borromean islands were named yes their family crest is a unicorn. Bella, Pescatore and Madre

My sister remembers the Italian Alps well, but when she hears the word Venice immediately changes the subject. I hope you show more beautiful places underrated by tourists and once You will visit my mountains.

So you're doing something good. Life is not a list of things to do.
No such thing as a spicy margarita… we always add chili oil. It’s authentic if it’s in Italy made by Italians. Our red sauce is always basic and stored and made once a year for the year. So we can mix and match it later! We never pre spice ever
I think I've probably just about seen everything when an american judges a pizza, in Italy. All this while simultaneously sipping lager. Gotta love the yanks 😂

The video is miss-titled. This is not Stresa, it is the Borromean Islands which are off the lakeside near the town of Stresa. There is nothing about Stresa here, per se. It’s a nice video, but more shots of the beautiful scenery and less of the authors’ faces and less pictures of chewing food would improve it.
