Ma sha Allah, it is absolutely amazing how Yaqeen institute tries to reach out to the lost Ummah through various and new strategies to steer us on the right path. Only Allah Almighty can reward them for their efforts. People working with them are definitely lucky and blessed. May Allah grant us all beneficial knowledge.

This session is so important for people who are suffering from ADHD because lack of motivation is the main problem most times… Step By Step and eventually you will get there soon..

    * Short notes from talk (not extensive) * We live in a culture that glorifies consumption and threatens 'missing out'. How can one strengthen oneself for trials or bringing ease to one’s self while going through these hardships on the journey to Allah and Jannah. - Constant motivation that its 'just a little longer' or requiring 'let's see how much further we can go'. - Pushing oneself incrementally is better, else one may pause or stop and the journey would take longer or waste one’s time. - Remind yourself that the laboriousness of the journey is for the better - Coach and push oneself - that you’re not preventing yourself from enjoyment or ease - but rather because the end is so much better despite what needs to be endured temporarily. The pain of regret in the hereafter is greater than the pain of self discipline in this world. The pain of regret in the hereafter is greater than the pleasure of sinfulness in this world. The pleasure of celebration in the hereafter is greater than the pleasure of sinfulness in this world. The pleasure of celebration in the hereafter is greater than the discomfort of self discipline in this world. - Keep eyes on the goal - Our two Eid come after sacrifices - pushing oneself through the last of Ramadaan culminating in Eid-ul-fitr, a preview of Jannah - Joy, Praise for Allah, best clothes, family, friends, feasting. So too with Hajj being the journey of life that culminates in the celebration of Eid-ul-adha. Paradise is joy and the real joy is meeting Allah - Keep your eyes on the goal. - Use milestones to help mark that part of the journey is complete and work milestone to milestone - focus on smaller goals to break up the length of the long term vision. - Keep perspective - Know that if your Lord created all that has produced enjoyment, and states that this earthly realm doesn’t compare to the hereafter, then what of the enjoyment of the hereafter - keep perspective. - Know the goals. Know Allah and Jannah and the possibilities to strengthen the motivation. People are taken by worldly personalities and pleasures when the Creator of it All would be the Greatest to meet and He has designated Jannah as the true realm of pleasure. - Consistency & Discipline. Of the many benefits of the Islamic rituals is it requires discipline which assists one to be consistently engaged and cognisant of the journey. - Take stock - What do I have on this journey that is unnecessary baggage (activities/traits) to be discarded or what other pursuits (knowledge/skills/people/activities) do I need to assist my journey. - Weigh oneself - Check one’s deeds, good and bad: what can be added that will be ultimately fruitful and what is it to be discarded that is to my detriment. - Trackable - Set trackable small goals and build upon it. - Not everything needs to have a halaal alternative - the need is often from a place of inferiority and/or unnecessary pursuits when there are aesthetically clearer alternatives. - Consider even substituting the mubaah (acceptable) with the mustahab (recommended). The mubaah itself can be time-consuming or remove opportunity for something beneficial to one’s goal and in doing so, set a higher bar that leaves room for a more acceptable level to break at. jazakumullahu Khairan & baarakAllahu feekum team Yaqeen and travellers on the path to Allah- Praiseworthy, Majestic. Allah knows best

What I love about Yaqeeen is that Shiekh Omar Sulaiman introduces us to such amazing people who we would never have had a chance to meet or know. Amazing episode. But I would highly recommend hearing sheikh Hamza who recited the Quran at Mohammad Ali's Janazah, (may Allah be pleased with him, ameen), the first sheikh to recite on FOX news. Sheikh Hamza shares his experience with sheikh Zaid Shakir where he grew up in his community 51:49 that express his reflections on the subject at hand And then a little about Mohammad Ali, May Allah be pleased with him at 1:00:15

DAILY DHIKR TO REMEMBER ALLAH (SWT) SubhanAllahi wa biHamdihi, Subhan-Allahi 'l-`adheem (Glory be to Allah, and Praise, Glory be to Allah, the Supreme) Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two words are light on the tongue, weigh heavily in the balance, they are loved by the Most Merciful One." [Sahih al-Bukhari; #7:67, Sahih Muslim, #4:2071] 2. Whoever says SubhanAllahi wa biHamdihi (Glory be to Allah and Praise Him) a hundred times during the day, his sins are wiped away, even if they are like the foam of the sea [Sahih al-Bukhari; #7:168, Sahih Muslim; #4:2071] Abu Dharr reported that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, "Shall I tell you the words that Allah loves the most?" I said: "Yes, tell me, O Messenger of Allah." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The words dearest to Allah are: subhanAllah wa bihamdihi”. [ Muslim and at-Tirmidhi.] U

is nafs different from soul? if yes and nafs likes to rebel and urges to do whatever it wants, how do you define regret and guilt in life, the emotions that we feel when we go against Allah swt. ?

Sister i might be wrong but from my understanding yes, and the feeling of guilt comes from the fitrah and the imaan. Again I might be wrong inshallah i hope that you find the answer to your question
