This game is my personal favorite beat ‘em up of all time. Streets of Rage 4 is an instant classic that successfully mixed skill-based gameplay along with bone crunching mindlessness. It turned out to be an amazing and worthy sequel to the franchise.
Adam is in my opinion the best character in the game, with his ridiculous damage and strong combo potential. Easy to use and hits way too hard, the patch somehow made him even better (Besides the infinite). I currently sit at 5th highest in the world for mania difficulty high scores (PS4), and this run was just short of my personal best. Hope you enjoy the video!

NICELY done. Bonus points for how you dealt with Zamza, the sewer fat boys, the Subway bosses, and the 1st Mr. X fight. I liked this run in particular because it felt more human than elite. I say that because it showed that you could make mistakes and STILL get an S-tier rank, which is an important lesson to both learn and remember.
This is really a lesson! No super fancy combos (except on bosses) or special spam, just perfect situation awreness and jab control. Great video! I love the way you let all the big fat guys kill themselves in the last stage, very usefull to know :)

Wow, this is an amazing game, and love it. I used to play this a lot, good old arcade days!
Next time I'm on an airplane or a boat, I'll smash open the pilot's seat to see if there's gold bars.

high concentration 1 and half hour. Full respect mania is super heavy. I love the game

By the way, at the very begining of the Chinatown stage you can destroy the two motorbikes to get some points. It's something they added in the last patch.

Yeah it was something that completely slipped my mind haha. I started getting those points in my later runs.

I remember that sequence. I didnt plan on using his special in the air, so I thought I was 100% getting hit haha

You need to achieve certain point thresholds in the level or the game itself in arcade to get different ranks. You do this by getting: Combos (Rough scores) -Yellow (Good) 50-150 points -Orange (Great) 150-400 -Green (Super) 400-900 -Blue (Awesome) 900-1500 -Purple (Amazing) 1600-3000 Pink (Sick) 3000-5000 Red (Out of this World) 5000- Whatever you can make in a combo Correct me if Im wrong in the scores -- Eating food when full of health Apple (Small Food) 300 points Chicken (Large Food) 1000 points -- Collecting money Bag 200 points Briefcase 500 points -- End bonuses Time (Not sure how it works, but the quicker the better) Health ~1000 per life and 10 per health% Perfect (Not get hit at all) ~10000 Star- 250 per star You get a life after 8000 points in a level and after 30000 in arcade Hope this is useful Keep your combo going and you should get higher ranks. If you fear getting hit, use the mighty defensive special (Special while still) C rank is above 5000 regularly B rank is above 15000 regularly A rank is above 30000 regularly D is anything below C This is for standard levels, it also depends on length and enemies in the level

If you press jump right before you hit the ground, you tech and don't take damage!

"Gonna put the Cherry on top!" Cherry = His daughter This reference confuses me, but it's Adam, so I'm in. Also, how exactly does the combo break work? Usually a hit cancels the whole thing, but every once in a while it feels like a hit just ends and banks it, like normal. Have to do some research here.

When the combo numbers are flashing and you get hit, you get the points but the combo ends.

Not sure why you are confused.. There is a common saying of 'putting the cherry on top of the cake'. Adam is saying the phrase while subtly referencing his daughter, which is a good play on words.
Great run but if you have to play like that to get S - rank then forget it.
Is a "no hit" run possible?

very bad . just simple punch
Boring to watch..same old tactics abit like a game glitch..just stunn your opponents...but there is no real fight...you are playing the game to impress people buy your high scores...

@@champuss this game took inspiration from 2D fighting games. With stagger pressure, recovery, and execution. It doesn't matter how long u have been playing because im better than most who started before me.
