I'm the same, aged 58. That music and the music throughout the episodes has always been my favourite, and back in the day got me seriously into Tangerine Dream. But I'm one of the lucky ones. A company has the rights to release just 10 official prints of the entire series music on CD per year (its a legal issue, apparently!) and I was fortunate enough earlier this year to spot one of them come up for offer on ebay. I checked it out thoroughly and it is an official release ...but as I said, amazingly, the agreement prevents the company from selling any more than 10 per year. Needless to say, I bought it, and it came with an official legal warning that I cannot make copies of it to sell on. You will therefore notice you never see them anywhere on eBay or elsewhere. I found the hen's tooth.

Well, from an "outsider" point of view (I'm French, so I wasn't familiar with US syndication), I would still say that Street Hawk is a few solid notches above Automan, in terms of fame. We got the two shows over here, at some point, but only Street Hawk got reruns. Automan did plunge in obscurity. Street Hawk is kind of a classic, isn't it?

Damn they used to make such cool and epic shows back in the 80's and 90's. Nothing from today even comes close.

Too many "reality" shows these day. The 80s had cars that talked (KITT), helicopters flying near the speed of sound (Airwolf), and motorcycles going 300 mph (Street Hawk)!!! So cool!!

In the 80s they had shows like this and Knight Rider. Great comedies like Happy Days and Threes Company and great crime dramas with a kick ass cop like Hunter and TJ Hooker. They don’t make them like this anymore.

this was one of best series I ever saw. I really liked it. The Man, the Machine, and the theme music. Awesome. The guy playing the lead really did a great job.

I was 7 in '90 when this was broadcasted in India. I was so impressed by this and loved every bit of it. This is what hooked me to motorcycles.

Yes I remember as a kid when Street Hawk used to come on Doordarshan in the late night hours when they used to air these English tele serials. And I remember when I saw a Street Hawk toy at a toy store and so badly persuaded my dad to buy it, but he just wouldn't, like the typical vintage Indian dad.

i used to watch this in 1989 on TV, I was 8 yrs old then, remember it crystal clear.

I was about 7 years old first watching this on TV. Amazing!!! My parents got me the toy Street Hawk. God, I miss the 80s. Now 44 I have all episodes saved on HDD. Not to mention Airwolf, Knight Rider and The A-Team.

There was a toy???!!!! I've never heard of this.

I remember hearing that theme tune for the first time in 1985 (aged 13) and like others have mentioned here, getting goose-bumps from that incredible arpeggiated / gated filter-swept synth sound. I’d never heard anything quite like it before and as I was developing an interest in electronic music at that time, I immediately experienced synth-envy, as my crappy little home setup had zero chance of emulating those wonderful tones ! The BBC also used the same tune on their Farnborough ‘86 air show programme, for the Red Arrows display, where it absolutely worked perfectly as an accompanying track.

LOL! I forgot about this show for the past 35 years. I used to ride my bike late at night in the dark and remember peddeling so fast to get home (cuz your scared) and had this song looping in my head!!! Oh man the joys of being a kid. :)

Saturday as a kid was the best, not coz of not going to school but coz epic tv shows like this.

Growing up in the 80s was the best..In UK we only had 4 channels but the content was amazing..Street Hawk, Air wolf, Knight rider, The A Team, Monkey magic, Fall guy, chips, Dynasty, Dallas, Dukes of hazard,.Dimpsey and make peace, Happy Days, Wonder years...list was endless, then you had the cartoons, He Man, Inspector gadget, Thunder cats, Transformers, Dungeons and Dragons, Brave star..etc miss those days..ps they all had one big thing in common, feel good factor sound tracks.

Just this music brings back so many memories...

Used to come on the national Indian channel in the 80s on Saturdays in the evening and Airwolf at night. I never forgot the theme music 😀 I will be 45 this month.

As a child I actually remember having the Street Hawk Colouring Book. Yes I did! :)

Thanks to Doordarshan . It given us memorable childhood in terms such nice shows. Doordarshan was ahead of time in those days. i.e. 80s n 90s

That was Ernie Anderson, he did a lot of the ABC promos, his son is Wes Anderson, the director. I always said he had a voice that could cut glass.

The Oppressor lol I miss the 80s in everyway other than family life.

This show aired on National television channel every Sunday morning when I was in third or fourth standard. Those days were before liberalisation in India where we only had National channel. I eagerly waited for this show even though I could not understand English then. I waited only for the street hawk to accelerate into supersonic speed.😊 Those were the days.

The theme tune still gives me chills.

It was a great show with K2000 and Airwolf sometimes I dream of an episode and a race with the three vehicles it would have been great.

As a child of the 80's, it was a great time with TV shows about super machines being all the rave...Knight Rider, Street Hawk, Airwolf and Blue Thunder.

Absolutely phenomenal TV shows back in the 80's, not forgetting the cartoon series too He Man, Dungeons and dragons, Godzilla ,Centurions,Dogtantian.... I could go on, I used to love getting up on Sunday mornings to watch pole position, Racoons, gummy bears! Great times 👍

I watched both this and Knight Rider as a kid, but with this one, as an adult I can’t help only thinking that if anyone actually went into that kind of super speed on a motorcycle, they’d fly right into a wall or whatever was ahead at the first curve. Plus a person on a motorcycle is just too vulnerable to get far in any case. With Knight Rider a lot of it makes sense and makes for a fantasy I can still enjoy.

When i was a kid this series was the inspiration for me to ride motorcycles when i grow up and the first picture of a bike a drew was inspired by streethawk, even now i listen to this music and i still ride. Gives me goosebumps every time i listen to it.

A true classic and was part of me growing up in the late 80s. I was probably six or seven when I first saw it. And I miss it so much now...

Loved this show when I was in 3rd grade! Friday nights! Another show that stoked my love of motorcycles.

And I watch this programme a lot too I like watching street Hawk in the 80s aswell I liked it when it was on .and I like ever since then I wish it was back on and the others ones aswell .I use to watch knight rider and Airwolf and the A team I use to watch them programs a lot when they were on TV I miss them aswell.

How I miss watching this and other classic 80s shows. If they were bought back I would be most pleased.

I mean,as a kid in the 1980s-a black super motor bike,he's dressed all in black,the music,the style, yes it's typical 1980s but was so cool and still is to me,I'm 47 but when I watched the first episode back in the 80s,EVERY boy in the playground next day was talking about it! THE MAN,THE MACHINE....STREETHAWK.

Scandalous that it was cancelled after one season.
