Double flip, varial double flip, front blunt kickflip took a minute, treflip he landed at a stand still, then he jumped off his board and turned around real goofy. I think they docked for style big time.

i guess maybe landing successfully since he is a kid of much lower gravity center. If adult, landing inevitably failed. I am just amateur.

Why don't switch tricks score higher than they do for Women? I see that as the next level of progress for Women's skateboarding. Almost none of them do them. But why do a switch trick if you can get a better score doing a backside smith down a rail, which for most of them easier?

I am glad they don't give switch tricks much more credit. I don't care if it is harder, it looks the same as regular, well, most of the time it looks worse then regular

It gets scored poorly for the men as well. The only guy who does anything switch on the men's side is Jagger. He gets robbed constantly. I wanted to see Aurelian make that gap to back NBS and then Jagger the land that switch show how pathetic judging is in these contests because Aurelian would probably get a nine and Jagger would probably get a 9.2 or something even though those do tricks are barely comparable.

The way the judges award their points, I'm almost on the verge of not following any more contests. To rate Gustavo Ribeiro's treflip noseblunt bigspin off perfectly executed at 90 is more than ridiculous. and that is just one prime example of many.

Nah just like Ginwoo, Richard had a lot of repitition with his heelflip tricks. The problem is that he also kept hitting the same obstacles and didn't go fast and big enough. He is a solid skater though.

@@slapdisgaem6601 that's ridiculous. Most guys only did kick flips. Why aren't they being punished for that? They did zero heel flips. And you cannot compare what he did to Ginwoo who literally did variations of the same trick on the same obstacle for the entire best trick. Come on now.

I miss Nyjah. All these skaters are amazing. But it's just not as fun to watch when you've seen them do literally every trick they've done in all the other competitions. Nyjah brought a new banger to every competition.

@@luke-eu9oy what level are these guys on? They literally have no variety to their tricks. None of them are actually playing the game. They have no strategy. Nyjah had different tricks in different stances on different obstacles. His level is way above these guys.

Aurelien deserved the win. Unreal skater who is so consistent with landing his tricks.

YES! I was thinking 95 at the least. Double flips, flip in and out of a grind, great line, only 540 in the competition. How can this be scored so low? More variety, best use of the park, clean lands. What did he need to do to get a 90?!

1.He literally has one of the wackest styles. 2. Double varial flips are so ugly. 3. The helmet doesn't help with my first statement. He needs to grow into his body, not worry about being a contest kid. Go learn from your older peers. 4. Who dressed this kid? 😂

camera angles are a bit annoying - missing tricks repeatedly like the shirai sugar cane - the camera team should use the same style as SLS,

Im all for the repetition rule being more volatile. Idk how many years i can watch the exact same tricks from a top skater win competitions. Especially if you did a variation of your best trick in your run..

Ginwoo took it to a new level. Trying four or five variations of a front blunt in the best trick down the same rail should not be allowed.

A Pamela parou no tempo e não evoluiu, dificilmente ganha algum campeonato daqui pra frente, o nivel do skate feminino esta muito alto . Vejam que a Leticia Bufoni teve juizo e aposentou a carreira (não oficialmente) porque não tem chance de competir com as atuais meninas . Chole Covel deixa a pamela e bufoni no chinelo

@@varzeaphoto3676 Exatamente. A Leticia deu um "migué" dizendo que iria focar em outros assuntos, mas na verdade ela só conseguia ganhar campeonato quando essas novinhas não participavam. Um exemplo é o X Games 2021. A Chloe em menos de um ano já tá no top 3, e em breve mais meninas do nível dela vão aparecer. Não vai demorar muito para a Pamela não conseguir mais se classificar pra uma final.

I disagree with people saying that Ribeiro and Ginwoo got robbed. I mean, Ribeiro had 4 360 flip tricks in his run (360 flip 50-50, 360 flip noseblunt, 360 flip front board and a 360 flip on flat) and 2 more in the best trick section (another 360 noseblunt and again with a bigspin out). I know these are mindblowing tricks, but this is a very limited trick pool that, as a viewer, kind of gets on my nerves. And the same argument could be made with Ginwoo and front bluntslides. Aurelian deserves the win imo.

Agree with that. Even tough gustavo is insanely consistant (reminds me of nyjah nowdays), he always does the same trick variations over and over again. He did at least 4 tre flip variations before that one trick. The is a repetition rule. And i support that cause i also almostcant see one single 360 flip noseblunt or a tailsilde to noseslide combo from kelvin once again. So they docked him a bit. Same thing happened to aurelien giraud last year with his hardflip lateflip.

@@siemaptk8006 I kind of agree with that but my guesd it's not due to repetition and it's a genuine mistake since other skaters got scored way more on repeating the same tricks.

I know judges werer pretty harsh (i also booed at the scores from gustavo and ginwoo) but we should know that there is a repetition rule if you do the same trick variation over and over again just with additions. Gustavo did tre flip noseblunt variations 5 times during the finals. So they docked him a bit. Also Ginwoo. Same thing happened to Aurelien G. last year with his insanely gnarly nbd hardflip lateflip. Dont get me wrong, im not completely defending the judges, i also found the judging pretty harsh. Ps. Jagger Eaton was overscored....

Tury first run was buck, he is showing manny santiago and Mickey papa how consistent you gotta be with those heelflips. Judges scored his 5-0 a little low, ginwoo got absolutely robbed on everything

It really is insane to see the progression of girls skating skyrocket in the last 3 years or so. Personally I think it’s because there’s $ behind girls skating so they can devote all of their time to it which really wasn’t the case if u go back a few years. If u go back 10 years there were maybe a handful of girl skaters that could support themselves on just skating. The rest of the girls that were pro likely had to work an actual job & obviously can’t put as much time into skating. I’m sure the answer is deeper than what I said but whatever it is it’s cool to see the skill level of girls move forward at the pace it is now

I don't think so. They're kids who don't have to work. Last Olympics Games average podium age might be around 14 for girls. I think it's just that there is way more girls skating than before.

kickflip fs blunt biggie first try perfect and its not in the nines is an absolute disgrace on those judges. Shame

I feel like the girls were kind of wasting time resetting their angles for trick setups while the guys did a cut back or a quick move to get back to the other side. I also feel for miss Rosa she was having a bad sk8 day but I can tell she's really skilled.

Last year was aurelien this year was Gustavo if you know what I mean.

I actually dislike Joslin, for what he did to Sewa in BOTB.

wow the judging is terrible the camera team cant keep up with the action and the announcers are stuck repeating the same lines over and over again. ashame to see the olymics with such subpar quality obviously not caring about skateboarding.

Ribeiro needs more creativity on his tricks. Giraud was underscored when he did a trick that no one does, which was a 360 bs kickflip down the big stairs. This trick deserved more than 93 !!!! However, it was a great show ! Onodera is also a fenomenal skateboarder !

What is skateboarding judging anymore …. 🙃 the bias is unreal with these ones . I love how all us skate fans, skaters/skate community know the scoring better than the judges. They robbed Gustavos again , someone get rid of these judges .

This is my first time watching anything in actual"professional" skateboarding. Everything I watch is skateboarding KZreadrs and people just hanging out and skating. I'm very disappointed
