    Another great one! I appreciated the peek behind the curtain of Osaka. The little stop at the karaoke bar door was great, and those little bars are incredible. I have had my GRII for about 3 months now and I love it. These videos inspire me to keep getting out there and shooting every day.

    There is literally endless creativity to explore and get photos of with all sorts of vibes and lighting. So dystopian. I love all the random stickers, graffiti, signs, pipes, wires, architecture. I'd spend so much time in every alleyway. Man why cant our towns be built like this?

    I really enjoy the photos without people in them. I can tell you enjoy photographing people, I've always leaned more into nature, macro, abandoned places, random weird street stuff. Not much of a people photographer but if it comes up of course I enjoy doing it for someone, or it occurs randomly out and about on the street sometimes or at events.

    I like both! These days I feel I photography people less than I used to, and I kind of miss it. But I'm also drawn to the loneliness and emptiness of the city. The city itself can tell a story of human presence. After all, the city was made by people. :)

    Another great video. Never really considered Japan to be on my list of places to visit - until I began watching your channel- looks to be quite fascinating. Question - haven’t heard you mention using the crop mode (35mm or 50mm equivalent) - I find myself using the 35mm crop mode quite a lot - is that something you do at all?

  • @EYExplore

    @EYExplore

    2 жыл бұрын

    I see no problem with cropping my photos and I do it sometimes, but I also know I can just do that later. So, to me, it's a waste of pixels to crop on the street (because you can't uncrop later). Of course, I understand it's helpful for framing to see the crop right away, but in that sense I'm very comfortable with the natural FOV of the GR. To me, it's shame to crop it while shooting. :)

    RGB at 22:35! The graffiti in some of the shots looks like it's all in latin characters. Anyhow, n00b question about metering: Why not set it to hightlight-weighed, then pull up exposure in post? I find that there normally is plenty of detail in the shadows. My only gripe with that approach is that the image on screen while shooting can be too dark.

  • @EYExplore

    @EYExplore

    3 жыл бұрын

    The simple answer is that sometimes it's too dark. Sometimes I don't care certain highlights are blow out (e.g. the sun, spotlights/floodlights, car headlights, etc.). Also, if you pull up shadows from a low ISO, say up to 400, it looks good. But once you get to 3200 or 6400, the dynamic range is much much lower (true for any sensor our there). So when pull up shadows there is tons of noise. It's a fine balancing act and I find it easier to do myself rather than using highlight-weighted metering. :)

    Amazing vid and great photos Łukasz! Ive been wondering though, what AF settings do you use? I usually shoot with my GR3 with f2,8-f9 and about 1/400 or 1/500 doing normal street shots, during daytime, your night shots though looks great and sharp and in spite of f and s i wonder what AF would be the best for such shooting. Thanks!

  • @EYExplore

    @EYExplore

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you so much! I always Select AF and keep the focus point in the center for the most part. Sometimes I use snap focus when it make sense. The reason they are sharp at f/2.8 (and actually I mentioned this in an upcoming video but not sure when Ricoh will post it)... there are two main reasons: 1) the GR3's lens is super sharp wide open, maybe it's even it's sharpest aperture, and 2) it's actually 18.3mm lens (not a 28mm like we always say) and wider lenses have more DOF. So, I'm focusing off in the distance, say 5-10 meters away from me, the DOF is massive. Everything is in focus, and with the super sharps lens, the photos is sharp! :)

    Oh just remembering you on live feed you was color grading your pics in light room just wondering if it different and if we need adjust on the off color if it has one. That’s time when you told us you don’t like Adobe profile be cause the reds was kinda off.. also was thinking how this cam performs from camera to computer or an editor app? If there’s any major change we need for pictures

  • @EYExplore

    @@TheHawaiianc Ah, that was for Nikon specifically. For Ricoh the Adobe Color profile is great! I don't do anything too different. My editing is pretty standard for all of my images, with just small tweaks depending more on the situation than the camera. But I think I should do another editing live stream, this time will Ricoh photos. :)

    @@larbo4200 When I bought my GR II a few years ago I was weighing it against the X100F. I ended up with the GR II and now have a GR III and have zero regrets. For me, it was mostly about having a camera that I can carry with me at ALL times. It must be small/light enough to fit in the pocket of my shorts if necessary. The X100 is just too big and too heavy for that.
