Van Damme fit as Guile in the live action film, but it was clearly his role in Bloodsport that gave rise to Ryu's character development in SFII also. He's also the only real life guy with visible brachialis muscles in between the biceps and triceps that are exactly like the exagerated Street Fighter II illustations! E-Honda, Blanka (the black guy that cracked coconuts and went on all fours), Sagat (although even more so from that guy in Kickboxer), Zangief(albeit an Amercan wrestler in the film) were all in there too as inspiration for the game. Even the Indian judge was like Dhalsim, and the bad guy was called Chong Li for goodness sake! No way is all that just co-incidence. No way. SFII was one of the most pivotal games in video game history, it founded E-sports: JCVD is an inspiration on many levels. i wish him well.
