Can someone explain to me why snake eyez would do a headbutt into DI after perfect parrying instead of an actual punish? Genuine question. I learn a lot from this dude.

If it combos, I assume it’s to deal as much damage to the opponents drive bar as possible because DI drains drive on hit and Gief can’t get oki off of lariat

Yup to the above comment. It's to damage the drive meter over health. For example, doing DI into combo->DI is a legit tactic to drain meter ESPECIALLY if they nearly burnt out. Also, after perfect parry, using OD special moves is kind of pointless due to the damage reduction after perfect parry. So in certain situations it's actually optimal.

I dont know if I should implement this strategy to my gameplay. Is the drive damage worth more than the actual damage. I guess it would make sense to do it to them near the corner for more pressure.

@@welpingwoodz9955 If it is specifically after a perfect parry, then likely yes it's worth it. Otherwise your best options are knockdown->oki. Burning too many resources after perfect parry is pointless. Edit: you can always just throw into oki but situationally taking their last bit of drive meter would be worth it.

Luke is a shoto yes. Zangief was absent from SF5 because he sucked there. Drive rush makes Zangief scary. I'm guessing Balrog and Akuma are gonna be DLC characters later.
