The new Streamlight XT is a great addition to the outstanding line of products from Streamlight. I like my Original Wedge but the fact that the XT has tailcap activation as a big plus, especially with handgun training and instruction. Both are USB Rechargeable. As I stated a weapon mounted light was NEVER intended to replace a hand held tactical but to complement it. I teach methods with several style lights and techniques, The tailcap activation works much better for this than the Original Wedge which has its uses and I am pleased with it for other uses. The Wedge XT has 500 lums on high and 50 lums on low whereas the Original Wedge has 300 lums with a 1,000 lum burst. Personally I feel if you owned both versions you will find you would use both. As I have stated many times you CAN NOT own too many Streamlights. They are a great value for the money. Stage them in various placed and you will always have one when it is needed.
