I bought the Logitech before finding your video. You helped justify my pirchase. Very informative since I'm still leaning how to use it. I haven't tried streaming with it yet but used it while working on crafts. I figured if I was to make a video tutorial on how to do what I'm doing I'd need this type of light anyhow.

It wouldn't really matter if I showed a clip from one webcam because the quality various differently. It is about the light and the ability to control it...

@@ThisSmartHouse disagree. It’s about the quality of the light and how it reflects off the subject. Whether it’s hard or nicely diffused etc.

@@ThisSmartHouse It does absolutly matter. When buying a device it helps to see it in action in different videos to have a good comparasion. I skipped your video because it's not demonstrated.

But again it really depends on which camera you're using. If I showed you how it looks on my camera it would look way different unless you're using a mirrorless camera as your webcam. I will say both of these lights have about the same light diffusion as each other. It's definitely better than a undefused light but no were as good as a softbox.

The biggest gripe I have with Elgato products is the Wi Fi functionality. Every college year when I live on campus, I am unable to change the color of the key lights. The Wi Fi on campus is EXTREMELY strict on what can be connected. It's not a major problem for me entirely as I prefer to use the white light the most, but the fact that I can't use other colors makes the price point too high for me. I only wish that Elgato had perhaps Bluetooth pairing through a phone :( it would make my life easier. That's why I'm switching to the Logitech lights and giving my keystone light to my cousin.

It isn't just the college wifi, I struggle a lot at home. Bluetooth is a good idea but at least let us control it over USB via the app. Wi-Fi for a product like this really doesn't work that well. I have other lights that are wifi controllable (for video) and I never use it. I hope the Logitech works better. I just wish they gave ANY sort of outside control via software.

Nice vid! Very informative but succinct...loved the way you outlined the differences when it comes to how to use thesoftware as well as how each device can be utilized in practical applications. I bought the Litra Glow to start. I have a couple of follow-up questions for you to start. 1) Do you have any other tips to maximize the use of this option with regardless to doing reaction videos or streaming? I have a Thinkpad Extreme X3 laptop. 2) The package said that the diffuser is designed to minimize eyestrain.Should I be aware of eyestrain or using this light too late at night?

Thanks for the comment! I use mine at the office to help offset a window that's behind me when using for video conferencing. Really you can use it for any time you need to look good on camera. I believe the new version of their software will automatically turn on the light when the cameras in use, but I think that might only be for Logitech cameras. Any light shining in your eyes at night are going to cause some issues but as long as you're actively doing something like streaming it shouldn't be a problem. You might just want to set it to a warmer temperature to reduce the blue light you're exposed to.

Very mixed on this personally, I have an Elgato Stream Deck which would be nice to use for the Elgato light, but not only is it more expensive it also doesn't include anything for mounting, so I'd need to buy a mount for it, is there any cheap monitor mounts that works with the Key Light Mini?

After using it for a year I have had a terrible time keeping it connected to my wifi. So I mainly use the buttons. If you have access to a 3d printer there are a few mounts you can print. If not, you can use a stick on GoPro mount with a 1/4x20 adapter.
