THAT WOULD BE THE DUMBEST IDEA WWE HAS EVER COME UP WITH!!!! they should have just done cody vs roman and then when solo and/or jimmy tries to interfere the rock can come out and make the save and cost roman the belt. that sets up roman vs the rock at either summerslam or WM41. they can feud over who the rightful tribal chief is since the rock is technically the biggest name in the family. rock puts roman over in the end cause the rock is old and thats what old guys do, especially for their family.

You know what, the more I think about it this makes the most sense. Before the injuries it was pretty evident that night 1 main event would have been punk/rollins but now I could see them doing Roman both nights. Imo there just isn’t enough time to build a story for Seth right now that warrants a main event. I know people will say Gunther but until his visa issues get sorted out that ain’t happening.

People aren’t mad that the match is happening they’re mad at how it’s happening. Roman and Rock doesn’t need a title and it doesn’t need Mania. SummerSlam would’ve been great or Chamber that was reportedly trying to get The Rock to appear. Cody’s story has been going ono for 2 years. This makes the rumble less meaningful with Cody giving up the Mania main event.

This is just terrible timing, they somehow managed to ruin both Cody’s story and Rock-Roman match at the same time lmao. There’s no problem with them doing the Rock match but this could have been executed a lot better. This just made Cody look stupid and the Royal Rumble completely meaningless. I'm sorry but this is bs rock doesn't need this, Cody has been one of the top guys of the last 2 3, back to back royal rumble wins only to be shafted by the rock. Say what you want but this is a "vince move" all over it an old part timer taking a full timer spot. Don't get me wrong I like the rock, but he doesn't need this. I guess Cm punk's pipebomb was correct. If you are one of these who wants the match then fair enough won't dispute that will probably bring in money and short term viewers, but for long-term viewers it seems like a middle finger and just doesn't sit right.
