I think you will find that Bruce has at least one friend. There is a windmill of the same size in Hughenden.

Thanks Kel, we think it’s ok. The camera is weather sealed, so think that was enough to keep the water out. Lucky it didn’t get washed in to the water.

That’s a relief! I just moved to Westall a couple of years ago with my family, and I must say, out of all the videos I’ve seen of this area, yours is the most cinematic. Very well done! I love the drone shots, the smooth gimbal work while walking, and the creative shots like the gradual reveal of the rock pool at Granites. I’m getting into videography myself, and was wondering, what’s the main camera you’re shooting with on the gimbal? Also, what lens do you use on the gimbal most of the time? And finally, your colour grading is perfect. Are you using a flat colour profile like Sony’s Slog3, and then colour grading in post, or just shooting in a native colour profile? I noticed you had a polarising filter, which really brought out the colours in the water of the rock pools. Well done. I’m very impressed and inspired by your film making, and will be sure to follow the rest of your trip! Just subscribed.

Wow, thanks @@guywhitworth5764! We put in a lot of time and effort to try and get the best result, it’s great to have some feedback that it’s being noticed. We shoot the majority of our shots with a Canon R6. I would love to use our 24-70 f2.8 on the gimbal but it’s just too heavy, so we have to use the 16-35 f4, and yes we do use a filter to try and keep a wide aperture and lower frame rate. We did previously shoot in C log but we weren’t happy with the colour grade that we were getting from it, only because of our ability to colour grade properly. It takes a lot of practice to master this. Some of our earlier videos, such as our shakeout trip through until about our Exmouth episode were shot in C Log. We then switched to HDR PQ, and have found it easier to get a better colour grade. I have just switched to Davinci Resolve from Premiere so I am now having to get used to editing this format in a different program. I have been getting different results so would be good to get your feedback once the next video is released (this will be the first one edited in Davinci). Maybe I’ll switch to Clog again and try in this program as it’s better suited to colour grading. We appreciate your support Guy, good luck with your video creations, You shooting with a Sony? What colour profile and what software are you using? KZread is a great motivation for working on your craft, let us know if you release something. Happy to have you along for the ride ☺️

Thanks guys. There were dogs at The Granites when we went there. None of the beaches we went to were in National Parks, so I can’t see it being an issue. We didn’t notice any signs saying no dogs, but we weren’t looking for them either. Hope this is of some use.
