Yes please to your reactions on all STRAY KIDS' THE FIRST TAKE performances. They were apparently the first Korean group to appear on the channel, and of course we're all delighted they keep getting invited back - it is so wonderful to hear these sparer performances as their vocal ability really is apparent in them; and I think it is admirable that they are performing fluently in a second/third language! There are now five THE FIRST TAKE performances of theirs: one down, four to go!

For their song Slump on The First Take, for example, they used auto-tune because the original song has it as a stylistic choice. And it's not the kind of auto-tune that you use discreetly but rather the one you know it's used on purpose!

@@isakkkkk idk. It just didn't sound like it 🤷 maybe I'm wrong but I don't think they did. They barely use autotune for japanese releases anyway. They do but it's not as noticable as in Korean releases

@@marugav6632 but there are a few Japanese releases with autotune. Not light autotune but the kind they use with drive and maknae on top as well. Or M.I.A, Lonely St. and Any ?? They have deliberate use of autotune, as do One Day, Call and Slump for Japanese releases. It's a stylistic choice they quite like to use from time to time.

@@isakkkkk please reread my comment. I have only talked abt Japanese releases. The deliberatenuse of autotune is fine. I just haven't noticed any funky autotune like in Maknae on top or god's menu or drive. In trap scene it is common to use autotune for that robotic effect. I like it. I just haven't noticed any hard autotune in japanese songs I HAVE LISTENED TO. I have watched the first take for slump and I haven't noticed autotune. Of course they use it ,it is just not funky

You want amazing live performances check out their kingdom performances… specifically, “I’ll be your man” and “Gods Ddu du, ddu du” so good!

Another thing to consider is that they are saying in Japanese, not Korean. No idea how often they sing this in Japanese, but I feel like it would not be as familiar as Korean. So that adds another layer to them crushing it.

He was like “Nope. I like it & will continue to use it.” I love him. On another live a Stay asked how often he is in the community. He looked straight at the camera & said All the time. Stays were like we need to start deleting stuff. Some even start by telling Chan to scroll on by. Ha ha ha ha.

Interesting assessment! Commentary on Felix's "pitchy" moment. To me, it sounds like a pronunciation factor. He's an Aussie and their "I" is slightly rolled like "Oi", which might account for the pitch change. But you may very well be right that autotune would catch that and adjust it. I agree that they don't use autotune, but certainly add vocal effects at times.

I know I'm late here, Chan has said they do use autotune and vocal effects but it's more to enhance certain sounds or words. They don't over use it or use it to correct all of the vocals. It's more to get a specific sound.

Ohh.. Same with me.. Actually, i knew SKZ after listening Slump on The First Take.. I thought they're jpop group bcause i'm fan of jpop..

I loved ur reaction, they did crush it!🔥😂💀 And the rapper member with black that u guy that u liked the vibe off, is named Changbin💝 And Felix need to leave me alone🤣💀 Had no mercy, his voice be extra deep in this one, in live concert clips especially in Australia, I'm telling u the agression, depth and huskiness of his voice be made crazy🔥😩🖐️ As a fan/stay for 2-3 years they are really authentic and I have made respect for their abilities, performance and personalities. Also when they do use autotune on stage for effect, they are super apparent about & are very light hearted
