Fun fact: stray kids (typically abbreviated to skz) have a hand in all of their music production, composition, lyrics, etc. 3racha (the main production unit in skz) also over see all of their track recordings

If you are a music producer, you will love Stray Kids. I have been into kpop for a long time, and Stray Kids brings something different to the table. There is something unique about them and they have their own flavour. The fact that they produce like 99% of their own music just adds to it. I really recommend you to check out a recording video from them ( 5 star album recording, its on their yt channel).

Kyle Reynolds is one of the co-composers (along with Zack Djurich & Chris LaRocca) credited after 3RACHA (the 3-man unit of main producers within SKZ). We know the song started with a beat made by the American trio -- especially Kyle Reynolds, iirc -- but fwiw, that _heavy_ 808 is practically a trademark of 3RACHA's sound, so there's a decent chance it came from them. I mention this because if you check out more SKZ, you are absolutely going to encounter that element repeatedly. JYPE follows the "in order of contribution" standard for credits, so we know where 3RACHA falls in the level of contribution for each aspect of production in tracks. Which, after 170-ish songs, means we've had the chance to get familiar with some of the signature elements that tend to come specifically from 3RACHA rather than co-producers. Heavy 808, random nature sounds, sirens and alarms, an enduring love for stylistic autotune, unexpected brass and strings, and disconcerting switch-ups are all, at the core, 3RACHA. Obviously, co-producers familiar with SKZ will sometimes also contribute those elements (VERSACHOI probably being the most frequent), but they're present even in tracks untouched by any producers outside of 3RACHA. For "The Sound" credits, we have in order: Bang Chan (3RACHA ) - lyrics, composition, arrangement, all instruments, computer programming, vocal directing, digital editing Changbin (3RACHA ) - lyrics, composition, vocal directing Han (3RACHA ) - lyrics, composition, vocal directing Zach Djurich - composition, arrangement, all instruments, computer programming Kyle Reynolds - composition, arrangement SKZ/3RACHA have a pretty small group of co-producers they choose to work with, so it's cool that they were impressed enough with Reynolds' work to want to work with him on a track! 3RACHA are very picky and very precise about production, so it's definitely a compliment when they want to work with someone.

It's crazy how paths cross, so cool that you friend helped in the production of this song! One of the reasons I love Stray Kids music is how, just like with BTS, they work very closely in production and lyrics. In Stray Kids, the three members Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, make up a production team 3 Racha that has writing credits on almost every song. I would recommend reacting to Thunderous, for a taste of some Korean traditional instrumentation, and check out their performances on the First Take KZread channel.

Whoa, since you'll be reacring to Stray Kids, I SUBSCRIBE! Because I like your content, and this group is my favourite! Most of their songs are self-produced and their music has been described by some as "loud and full of construction sounds" - but for me that's what I love about it! Did you hear those howling sirens in the background? Well then get ready for more interesting tidbits if you really plan to delve into Stray Kids! Plus this group is seriously brilliantly talented - they don't have fixed positions assigned to them, the rappers sing wonderfully, they all dance amazingly, well a full house of talent! I managed to see them live in Paris and I can honestly say that their performances are a whole other level! They are unmatched! And despite their growing popularity, they still stick to their own style and don't follow fashions to please their audience! I think it's worthwhile for you to start by listening to the title tracks, although I personally love their less popular songs the most. But my attention was initially caught by "Maniac", but I think it will be interesting for you to react also "God's Menu" or "Venom", because you will probably have interesting comments about the production ;) I look forward to it!

Thank you for your reaction to stray kids. They are a unique and different from your normal k-pop group. For one they produce 99.9% of their own music. Stray Kids are a Korean group but this song is one of their Japanese songs The Sound" was written by 3Racha, sub unit team of Stray Kids consisting of Bang Chan, Changbin and Han, and co-composed with American producers Zack Djurich and Kyle Reynolds. 3Racha write, compose, arrange and produce most of their songs, this includes melodies, beat changes and unique sounds. Stray Kids is a rap heavy group but they have some of the best vocals as well. When they do have help they are still a big part of the producing process. Bang Chan the leader (guy in short tan shirt) trained for 7 years since he was 13 years old in dance, ballet, jazz, guitar, piano and drums. He is the first person ever to be a leader of a k-pop group and hand pick his members. Usually it is the company that puts their trainees through a elimination show to determine who will be in a group. Bang Chan was born in Korea but moved to Australia at a very early age he is fluent in Korean and English. Felix another member was born in Australia. He is the member who is usually notices first for his deep vocals and iconic lines. You really don't see that in this song. But I love this video and song. I really hope you check out more of Stray Kids. Since they produce most of their songs they put out more songs and 3Racha members have the most accredit songs for the 4th generation group. Stray Kids love to mix genres, beats, sounds and melodies changing them up all in one song and some how they always make it work to some amazing songs. They have over 170 songs currently since their debut on March 25th 2018. Not sure what type of music you like to direct you on what to watch next, but here is a few suggestions. Gods Menu m/v is their iconic song with the most views, Back Door m/v, Venom m/v, TopLine m/v, Get Lit m/v, FNF (flora & Fauna) m/v created for remembrance of the flora & Fauna destroyed in the Australian Bush Fires. , DLC m/v These will give you a range of different genres and mix of rap and vocals. Catch you on the next video. adding FYI.... that on their concerts performance, they always have a live band playing their music.

@@BeccaFaye1314 I did… I quite LITERALLY wrote “stats for Stray Kids music involvement” in my comment. That’s your problem that you read it like that bc nothing I wrote in that comment even implies that I was saying that they were doing all those percentages completely alone. Again those are percentages on INVOLVEMENT. And ok, you see new stats saying that it’s ALL by themselves, but am I one of the stays who said that? No. I’m not. All I said was that they have been INVOLVED in 100% writing, 95.3% composing, and 51.9% arranging. And these are stats for their albums. Not songs like Going Dumb. @@BeccaFaye1314 Ok I’m just clarifying what my stats are referring to. Me talking about their involvement already implies that there are other ppl involved since again, I said involvement and not “they did all this by themselves with absolutely no help at all”. Ok great you’re trying to “educate” stays, but how abt you stick to the stays that actually need it and not me. Bc I’ve quite literally looked at all the credits for every single song in Skz discography including their Korean albums, Japanese albums, collabs, features, songs they’ve done for other artists, etc. I’m not creating nor spreading any false narratives. I also didn’t discard the works of the other producers, writers, and translators that they work with. My comment was focused on the Skz members. When it comes to Kpop, it’s already assumed that there are other ppl behind the scenes, so I’m specifically talking abt Skz involvement bc not every Kpop group is THAT involved in their music. Me stating their involvement percentages doesn’t make the other ppl involved in the tracks disappear. So don’t act like I did just bc YOU read and misinterpreted my comment

Their discography is almost 200 songs deep and they've had a hand in almost every single track. Not bad for a bunch of young men under 25! The each can sing, rap, dance, write their own music and seem like genuinely good people. I love that they know their sound, who they are, and how far they want to go. Give anything in their discography a listen. They cross so many genres, but still maintain their sound. Depending on your mood, there is something for that.

This just popped into my feed. Loved to see someone new to SKZ (Stray Kids for short) react through a fresh lens. I notice you've listened to a fair bit of BTS and SKZ are not the same (not saying they are better so no fan wars please!). SKZ tend to be known as "noisy" music because of their heavy beats, raps and high energy songs (they even called a past album "No-Easy" -- say that fast and you get the play on words, which is something they love doing). However, SKZ also have melodic ballads, poppier songs and a ton of unit and solo releases. They are prolific to say the least releasing at least 150+ in 5 years and that doesn't include everything not officially released as singles/albums. They are self-produced by and large by their in house 3RACHA team. If you are curious to hear a certain style of music from them just ask any fan (Stay) and they can point you in the right direction. From their latest album, if you'd like to hear a song with a surprising number of genre and beat switches their title track S-Class would do it. Rap heavy then Topline. More EDM style then Get Lit. A ballad to fans, then Youtiful (another play on words). Oh and their newest (just released) Japanese track, Social Path, is a high energy banger with such a positive message. Hope to see a couple more of your reactions to SKZ.

Just to be clear... Particularly simce many in the comments also seem to be rather confused about the facts. Stray Kids are a self produced group, that's not to say that they don't, like EVEYONE, require the helping hand (for many reasons, from requiring people to bounce ideas off of, people that are masters in particular genres they have yet to tap into, and people who sre skilled with certain program features they themselves are still learning. They are a jack of all trades, but that means that you still require the help of the masters at some. lol) That having been said.... The fact is, Stray Kids members (mostly the production unit 3RACHA) are, in fact, the main/primary writers, composers, and producers of ALL of their own music within their main discography, as well as all, with the exception one one single track within their Japanese discography. (The production of which they produced, but because much of the lyrics of which were a gift from the former founder and CEO of their label, Mr. JYP. The members and him share the credit for this track evenly.) Outside of this, with the exception of 3RACHA, who are, of course, the primary/main writers, composers, and producers on their solo tracks as well. The other members' solo tracks are the only other tracks in their whole discography, which are often an equal partnership (in other words, the members and the other producers are EQUALLY responsible for the outcome)... To put it simply, it is indeed a fact that, other than the aforementioned material, 3RACHA are the primary/main producers for their music. So.. to say anyone other than Stray Kids "produce Stray Kids' is a SLIGHTLY problematic way to phrase things that causes thenvery issue that Kpop desls eith incthe belief structure that they are all robots who do not make their own music. It's also important to point out that one of the goals of Stray Kids is literally to change that narrative. As their leader said, "We pride ourselves on the fact that, since before we even debuted, Stray Kids have been the ones responsible for ALL of our groups' music. It came from our minds and our hearts, and that is incredibly important to us." So yes, your friend was most definitely brought in as co-producer to help them out on a track... However, no... no one outside of Stray Kids produces Stray Kids. This terminology really is euite deceptive. Stay kids' main producers simply utilize the experience and the aid of other producers to help them be the best they can be, keep ideas flowing, and stay on the genre they happen to be working within. Specially when working with a new genre or sub-genre.) and fill in a bit better the areas in which their knowledge may, in fact, be slightly lacking. As all of them are, and will always be, perfecting their craft. Plus, they know that there is nothing wrong with getting help in order to make sure that what you put out into the world is something that cloud can truly be proud of. The issue is in the reality that such statement that very likely meant absolutely no disrespect, in an industry such as K-pop, will not only will likely come off as being disrespectful but will undoubtedly be accidentally, not to mention purposefully, taken in any other way that it could possibly be taken by others. Potentially setting back the efforts to properly inform th lexpublic of the facts. Again, Stray Kids, primarily 3RACHA, produce their own music. The producers they recruit, such as your friend, they assist Stray Kids in their efforts. I do hope no one takes my words as though they come with even the slightest nuance of Venom. I promise, they do not. I am simply voicing a legitimate issue that Stray Kids are indeed facing. With the complete understanding that this reactor very likely did not know.

Adding unconventional sounds into the mix is kind of a trademark of Stray Kids. Not just sirens, but drills, birds, machine noises, metal smashing against other metal, traffic sounds, car horns, I watched a video of the different emergency broadcast signals from various countries around the world, and the one from Greece sounded like a Stray Kids song. A lot of people have called their sound “noise music,” so about 2 years ago they came out with an album called No Easy that has a lightning bolt between the two words on the cover and the E and A were faded out so it looked like the album was titled “noisy.” Which was a tongue in cheek nod to their critics.

Loving all the K-pop you have been reacting to! If you’re looking for a genre switch up have you reacted to LP yet? They are a phenomenal singer! I came for the K-pop reactions, but your insight is great so I’d love to see one on LP!

It's funny how you get amazed of the instruments... you should know.. Kpop doesn't mean they aren't musicians... most of IDOLS write, produce, make music, play instruments, dance and sing.

This is the first time i came across your channel & thank you so much for reacting to Stray Kids. How cool it is that your friend is one of the producers for this song. If you love this, you'd def. enjoy their Korean albums even more. The leader of Stray Kids, his name is Chan, or Chris, (one of the main producers for the group) is an audio nerd & also one of the sound engineer for some of their songs too. Highly recommend their songs like Thunderous, S Class, Venom , God's Menu, Backdoor & Maniac ...there are many more if you like...but you will not be disapoointed with their productions. Thank you for your time. Really looking forward to more reactions to SKZ from you :)

Stray Kids are in a league of their own. They have such a huge discography and are constantly trying new things. I think they will continue to grow. They are performing at this years VMAs and are rumoured to be doing the next deadpool soundtrack.

Oh. Stray Kids is a whole rabbit hole of talent. They come up with the most interesting ways of arranging tracks, and adding interesting sounds. You picked up on the sirens....They have those in SO many tracks, and they fit so well. They have used car horns, crows cawing, breaking glass, and many other random sounds that aren't usually put into songs. They have also teamed up with other artists multiple times, and each song is different from the others. Lets see if I can remember a few. Mirror Mirror, by F.Hero, Milli, featuring Changbin. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eI6gpK2lXdbWlrw.html (Changbin wrote his own rap lyrics & did a one take recording) Topline, by Stray Kids, featuring Tiger J.K. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lGd7u8V6Z82bnco.html Social Path, by Stray Kids, featuring LiSA kzread.info/dash/bejne/f2SXkpaxlqXaqcY.html Going Dumb, by Alesso, Stray Kids, Corsak kzread.info/dash/bejne/n3mAj8VqisLTkco.html Now. Stray Kids have a very wide range of song sounds. Most of their title tracks are very hard hitting, but their b-sides range from soft guitar & piano to...Well....Anything. I'm just gonna put a few songs that I think vary in sound. No links for these, or I would be here for a LONG time. These all have videos, not all have subtitles. No title tracks. People will always recommend those. Some of these will be very old, and have the member who left in them, but we ignore him. (Stray Kids debut as a 9 member group, and just under 2 years in one left leaving them as a 8 member group) Some of these will be solo songs, and some will be sub-unit songs. Chronosaurus Blueprint Youtiful Little Star Streetlight Voices Super Board Up All Night Rock (Street Version) Boxer Freeze Venom Lonely St. 19 Insomnia (Street Version) Victory Song Ex Awkward Silence Red Lights Drive I think that's enough for now. It's very overwhelming to look at their song list. In 5 years, they have produced over 150+ songs. Not to mention the covers they have done.

You will love stray kids as you explore their music. 3racha (as other mentioned, the production members of the group) and Bangchan in particular, love to use samples of things you don't normally find in music such as alarms, sirens, tiger roars, you name it. Try some of their older stuff too like District 9, Victory song, and Miroh. Their new stuff is all amazing, all of their stuff is amazing, but their older stuff hooked me years ago and I love to see people find and react to those too :)

I think you should be careful on giving the credit of this song to your friend. Is well known that Stray Kids produced their own music. They colaborate with other people, but all the video you were talking about your friend and you didn't even mention 3racha(Bang Chan the leader, Changbin and Han- they are part of Stray Kids) and they write and produce Stray Kids songs.

Guitars, strings and stacked vocals, I recommend to you Red Lights, it's a jewel. And for something extremely different bringing very interesting source elements to the table, you might appreciate Thunderous. Those are my 2 first suggestions for you, I'm sure other STAYs (fans of Stray Kids) will literally drown you in recommendations and infos about the group 😊
