Fun fact, Lee Know is the only jype artist to complete their basic dance moves in just two weeks... some artists took months/years, some even debuted without completing the jype basic dance moves. That's how great of a dancer he is.

I just wanted to add tho, that this is how he got notice and could join the members just one month prior to the survival show with only a few weeks of training. So basically, he broke twice Momo’s 3 month record and from what got7 had revealed, ~ 1 year seems to be the average time it takes to complete the class.

​@ludvig3242 He was a great dancer prior to bts back up. He competed in Korea world of dance in group with Bada Lee and Vata and other choreographers now.

What people forget is LeeKnow is very aware he is not a solo performer. He isnt flashy on purpose, he has the technique and level to show off, but instead stays back to let the whole group shine. Like a true pro.

But that's the whole point! People don't watch performances for excellent dancing; they watch for excellent *_performing_* , which u cannot do just by being good with your dancing. It's only dance analysers and people who are really into dance that will appreciate great dancing; most people want a great performer.

Someone commented on another video that they watch Lee Know's fancams to learn choreography because he dances so cleanly. It was only then that I noticed how well he danced. Now, it's hard to focus on anyone else when they're dancing.

Important things to note: Lee Know works hard to make sure all of stray kids shine dance wise and that he doesn't stick out because he wants them to be seen as a team (not word for word but he did confirm that these days his focus is one SKZ shining as a team thus he dances for his team these days and not so much for himself like he used to when he first became a dancer. Next his moves are always powerful and sharp but no unless it's a solo for SKZ he's not showy like say Hyunjin is so people tend to focus more on Hyunjin alot of times. Also Hyunjin has always been given more opportunities to show his dance (no hate to Hyunjin btw) But though Kingdom was a wild rollercoaster I'm happy Stray kids did the show because it showed alot of people just how powerful and versatile Lee Know is as a dancer and perhaps why Chan says Lee know is a master at dancing and why he wanted him for his team. Never forget this man was dancing for 4-5 years professionally prior to joining SKZ not mention all the competitions he's been in and the fact that he danced for BTS who are known for having some of the most insane choreographies. Lastly he's an amazing teacher and choreographer. Thank you for this video. Outside of Ten from NCT/WayV/SuperM Lee know is one idol I view as being a powerful super talented dancer. His skills are no joke and I can't wait to see him shine more in the future.

Yesss that is what i notice too. And i do remember LK said that after he joined stray kids, he doesnt dance for himself but for stray kids. He can really control his dancing, like going all out and powerful for solo but he also can tone down his dancing in group dance. I think that shows just how good he is as a dancer and also as team player. He also teaches the members a lot on how to do the correct moves. He truly is a dancing gem and i think he is one of the reasons why stray kids performances are always so solid and powerful. Cmiiw, but i also notice that LK is the one member who moves a lot during stage performance, like he is literally all over the stage. Idk but i feel like he is doing it to support other members as well, like making the stage more balance

"he dances for his team these days and not so much for himself" - ikr? there are certain stages where he stands out a lot , like the recent Tiger Inside performance - I could not take my eyes off him. Every movement was so clean and, unexaggerated and so well timed whereas he blends in more during skz performances (unless he's in the center/spotlight). I am not a dancer but I had always thought that great dancers always stand out in performances, like one of my other bias Ten from NCT - but I was always confused when it came to LK.

I’m a dancer and I get so upset when they do not include him they need to see that dancing isn’t about who has the best style or who’s more powerful it mean who has best technique best control who enjoys it who expressed themselves thru dancing and leeknow is the only Kpop dancer I’ve seen that controls himself and has all the standard a true professional should meet also he dances as a group not for himself I know when he dances for himself he’s powerful

Thank you so much for taking the time to actually analyze Lee Knows’ dancing. I once saw a “dancer ranking” of 4th gen main dancers and was so happy at first they actually included him, but the research on him was so clearly half assed that they actually said he has weak core strength. Like…I am not a dancer but thats just factually so wrong it is laughable. This video was fascinating because it was the first time someone could explain to me, a complete amateur, why Minho’s dancing is so mesmerizing once you notice him. I don’t care for comparisons, but my eyes honestly go to him on every performance and his is the first fancam I check out, it’s fascinating watching him move.

I'm not a pro dancer or anything but the thing that strikes me the most about Lee Know's dancing is that he has fantastic footwork. His lower body angles and wide stance are beautiful because of how light he is on his feet and how he shifts their angles to move his legs subtly. I think it was in the Finesse cover where he rotated his foot much more than 90° outward to execute a really quick and clean spin, and I was so mesmerized. You can also see in one of the Danceracha songs that he taps his feet along with the beat during the dance at times that makes his dance so beautifully dynamic. He's really clean with his footwork. Also just that he never misses a beat. Felix has gotten a lot better, and I think he tries to imitate Lee Know's techniques (since Lee Know is the dance leader) and that shows. The execution is sometimes not there, but the angles and energy are. Hyunjin is just too stylized to actually compare, but since Lee Know tends to incorporate changing the choreo to fit Hyunjin's style, it tends to stand out. It also strikes me that Lee Know can just pull off anything flawlessly, whereas everyone else's range in dancing is very limited. Bang Chan may be the only exception, but his execution isn't there because his main focus isn't on dance. Lee Know is just *chef's kiss* and it almost feels like despite being the main dancer and dance leader, he's still underrated compared to the appreciation he should get, and that's wild. So it's nice to find a video like this!

Thank you for including Bang Chan in the analysis. I watch his dances and compare them to Lee Know's dances. They are similar. I also realize that Bang Chan can not devote as much time or energy to the dances as he would like. Bang Chan is too busy with the bigger picture of writing and producing music. Thankfully, Bang Chan has Lee Know to focus on the choreography.

I always found Lee Know's dancing extremely satisfying and effortless. It's like he was made for it and even the toughest looking choreographies came naturally to him. I'm always proud of him but knowing what exactly he's doing makes me respect him so much more. Thank you for this analysis!!

The way he combines his logical abilites with his artistic abilities is insane. He is definitely 4th gen's dance gem. I'm so proud of him.

That description during efficiency was so fitting for him, no wonder when I try to remember SKZ choreographies Lee Know comes to mind immediately cause the way he does the moves made the greatest impression to me.

Might I add that this man went to a school for engineering and studied mechanical engineering, which kinda is visible in this video. Gosh my life would be complete with either the dance skill or the brain of this guy-

Thanks for this thorough analysis. I know that lee know is a detailed and perfectionist dancer but I didn't know that he can be that detailed like the hand movements? The angles? I'm shookted. And it's so satisfying that he never underdance or overdo because as what I've seen, some idols tends to overdance to create the impression of having the best impact to the point of looking messy and cutting the routine itself. I just want to say that to some nonstays and stays out there who thinks that lee know is a dancer who underdance. Well see it for yourself, the guy have said it himself that he intentionally not to stand out much because he wants the team to be in uniform and one. And to some who says that he doesn't deserve to be a dance leader, y'all should know that bangchan himself gives that leadership to lee know because he sees lee know as one who is capable of everything related to dancing. Even the members are always thankful to lee know in regards to dancing. The man is already on his way to become a professional choreographer, he's a professional dancer before he becomes a trainee, he trained for 4-5 years in dancing, have his dance crew, participated in World of Dance, being one of bts' back up dancer. He trained the longest on being a professional dancer than being an artist himself who is only a month. Never underestimate Lee Know's capabilities.

Backup dancers are pro dancers because amateur dancers would stand out in the background in a bad way. Dance is a sport, takes years and brutal honesty and analysis to get better (like swimming, gymnastics, boarding…..). Lee Know has clearly gone thru the grinder and came out shining. He is the first in SKZ who can execute all skz choreos like a champ and maintains efficiency in energy and recovery. He is not a flashy dancer though, a somewhat negative being an idol in the center position. However, he has been making progress flirting with videocam confidently. Last year his stage presence was 10x better than 2020’s.

Well, idk if I agree on him not being a flashy dancer, he is, when he is dancing solo. But one of the reasons that makes him such a good dancer, and very much the dance leader in skz, is the fact that he NEVER tries, or wants, to overpower and outshine the other members in group. He has said a few times at this point, that he doesn't dance for him, he dances for the group. He wants to balance the group.

He makes it look so easy so people tend to overlook how skilled he really is. He’s the best and I’ll never get tired of watching him dance.

The reason i found Lee know to be so hot is because he is a dancer. A dancer must know their body really well to be able to fully function in dance, something that I struggle with when I dance. My theory is that Lee know is able to fully visualize how a move is supposed to look, and knowing his body helps to fully complete the move. That's why Lee know is hot, his full control over his body.

He just needs consistent exposure and all! LeeKnow has so much potential and I dont want Jype to waste it!

The thing is LeeKnow don't tend to do the over energetic dance which make his dance really clear,smooth,controlled and sharp. He knows what to do when he is dancing.

This is the type of dance analysis videos that are unbiased. It's so detailed and on point and even provides references to make it more clear for the viewers. Honestly, I don't watch individual fancams before but I accidentally watched lee know's God's menu fancam and I was shocked because he is precise and has that huge body control, also he doesn't look tired the entire performance which even shocked me that's why I started watching other fancams of his and realized he is really a perfect dancer. Honestly, he doesn't over dance nor underdance that's what I liked about him, He knows how to dance powerfully and when to slow down, in simple terms not exaggerated movements. His facial expressions are just naturally captivating and I noticed that he has a beautiful sharp face and a natural fierce look that even a small smirk, fierce look, simple smile or any expressions he does is captivating?? Compared to other dancers that do a lot of facial expressions or movements to look cool or smthn bc honestly speaking it doesn't look good, it only looks exaggerated and most fans view that as 'powerful or cool/ energetic'. It is a charm to be expressive however don't overdo it and lee know is a good example of a natural charismatic dancer! No wonder Professional choreographers mention him a lot too. Plus he is a good dance teacher and overall he is attractive in anyway too 🐱

As a dancer I agree completely, Lee Know is one of the best if not the best Idol dancers out there, and the fact that he achieved a lot of these skills at such a young age is incredible (don't even get me started with singing/rapping while dancing at the same time at his level). When it comes to dancing it truly comes down to the the little details (such as you displayed for the Wolf perf), when you dance, you want to hit a certain position or move cleanly while still using the correct technique, almost as if they were gonna take a picture of you in the in that very moment, that fact that he achieves this time and time again in all of his performances is very impressive. This was so satisfying to watch, the detail, chefs kiss

this video is so accurate at a lot of levels. as a dancer who was trained by a lot of professionals, I know that those "professional choreographers" aren't much seen as great dancers in the eyes of those who don't dance because they have proper techniques that they need to follow in order to execute the dance moves properly and efficiently to their body. that's what makes them "professionals". it's not the amount of how hard you pop or how powerful you dance, but it's about creating balance and understanding your body in order to get the moves scientifically and artistically right. and that's why lee know is so good at dancing. when they're dancing as a whole team, you can't really notice him unlike hyunjin because he knows how to blend his movements and dance FOR A TEAM. but when you see him dance solo that's when you'll really notice his professionalism when it comes to dancing. for example his dance solo in the Kingdom teaser, you can actually see how fluid and effortless he executed those hard dance steps. if you watch a lot of professional choreographers in America like Matt Steffanina, Tim Milgram, Kyle Hanagami, etc. the first thing that you'll notice is how they dance with TECHNIQUES, not just with full power. and I think lee know resembles the way they dance, seeing that he took professional dance classes way before he became a jyp trainee. another dancer I can see dancing the same way as lee know is kino of pentagon. since they both attended professional dance classes during pre-debut days.

A year back when the saw the the dancerachas vlive I was so shocked how all 3 danced continuosly for long...but lee know caught my eye ...while hyunjin amd felix looked exhausted by the songs in the end(no hate to them ) leeknow's dance was still "clean".I never understood how he was able to do that...that tym I thought he must have more stamina than felix and hyunjin.but ..after a few months I realized it's not stamina only(both hyunjin and felix too have that) it's the technique he uses ...and how he uses natural forces to do his moves efficiently(what u mentioned) ..when I rewatched the vlive I realised how efficient he is....this was so intresting to see as fellow dancer.

I know not every single stay or kpop fan would come across the factors behind dancing- and not just moving your body according to the song, but with Lee Know- oh how I wish everyone would recognize his great ability in dancing. I'm aware he has a background in dancing before Straykids but not about his bachelor, hearing it makes me inspired more about my dancing too. I think most people’s impression abt dancing is usually the impact of your movements not the overall image of dancing esp the details, glad someone really pointed out how lee know dances perfectly. Dancing is logical too not just abt physical , you have throw your knowledge to your body. This is really why there’s a big difference when dancing professionally

this is why hes been my ult bias for 2 years now. i am so proud of him, this video made me realize that if i want my dreams to come true i need to work hard

Thanks for this detailed video as someone who's not from a dance background I've noticed these things too especially the point abt "efficiency" he doesn't over or underdance & enjoy the performance which is actually rare to see in many other kpop dancers & many other things this video explains alot better it's disappointing that most kpop stans pay attention to expressions, excessive dancing not to mention there are still some so called stupid ranking videos exist simply ignoring this man's talent & years of training I hope one day he get recognized for his talent leeknow truly is *the next big thing in kpop*

I’m new to skz, but one thing I noticed with Lee Know is he transitions from one movement to another so smoothly.. no awkward stops.

This is why LeeKnow bias like me want people to understand and appreciate him as he should have received.

One of my dancers friend told me that there's a thing about good dancers that whenever you watch them, you're not even thinking about how tiring the dance move is. You just think that wow it's was executed so well. And that's what I always think whenever I watched Lee Know dance. It's not tiring to watch it's more like satisfying as compare to the other members. No hate/blame on the other members, but I think this era where we see a lot of lee know being in the center showcasing his dance is such a good era for stray kids :)

Lee knows close friend vata who was in the same dance team as him is a choreographer for SuperM(all of their comebacks), kang Daniel(he’s kangs choreographer), cravity (all their comebacks), nnmix tank, chuck cherry, hwa and spicy by CL, reason by Kai, omega x, verivery trigger, shinee code, victon what I said, kard gunshot, he was in lili film 2 and many more

i love how he doesn't over dance nor under dance, if you watch his fancam you'll see how his stamina is consistent from start to the end. some dancers might losing their stamina from the middle till the end of the performance, but lee know can manage to always dance powerfully. i also heard that he was in the same dance team called Brownie Bros along with superm tiger inside choreographer and they also participated in World of Dance as team back then, by looking at his circle i'm sure he'll be a great choreographer if he didn't debut as an idol. he's a phenomenal dancer.

SHEESH, I can't believe you caught all of that. You managed to make me, a non-professional, really care about details and gravity lmao and that's really impressive. I always knew Minho is a very powerful and detailed dancer and I always noticed that he manages to execute all the moves properly while still making it look so easy and that was what amazed me about him the most. But this...This explanation shows he is on a whole fricking another level! How one even calculate the energy you put into certain moves??? Crazy😵🔥anyway, this just proved Lee Know is one of the best(if not the best) dancers of the 4th generation, and as much as I love Hyunjin and Felix and Danceracha overall, Minho always caught my eye and stood out, a true dancing gem💎

He is a pro dancer, i'm so happy his skills have recognition, he deserve a lot of appreciation. Thank you so much

he’s truly has skills what it takes to be a professional dancer not to mention he danced with professional like sm choreographers bada lee they where on the same dance team and he competitive in dance world and his team came 2nd not even that he got in college with his own choreography to get a bachelor degree on urban dance and choreography he’s truly is the best dancer in Kpop

I no nothing of dance but he became my bias due to his fancams. I love how clean and elegant his moves are and the consistent energy he has throughout the performance. His past career as a backup dancer is why I think he doesn't outshine the rest of the group but sometimes I feel like he's more focused into executing the moves perfectly rather than being a performer. Anyways he's great and he deserves more recognition for his work

Even Leeknow he might not notice this. He dance naturally just like muscle memory cause he trains a lot practice a lot thank you for showing us how perfect he is.

Leeknow is my fave dancer in skz.. i just love his dance style and he is so satisfying to watch.. he may not be the first who catch my eyes, but once he caught my eyes, i cant keep my eyes off him.. i always thought that his dancing is very clean and on point but never boring.. he is so good that he can still stand out without sticking out from the rest of the members during the group dance.. and i think now i understand why after watching your analysis.. and one of the best parts is that he is always having fun on stage, which is another reason why his fancam is so entertaining and never boring to watch.. On a side note, after watching your other analysis on danceracha, it is very clear that each of them has different dance styles.. i just hope that people will stop arguing which one is the best dancer because obviously they complement each other and by the end of the day all of them are skz.. we can have our fave without putting down others

That was so well said, couldn’t agree more. I often have discussions with my daughter about how danceracha members are so different, they’re so good to watch together. Lee Know, for me, is the most mesmerising though. Even when he’s not centre I watch him because everything about him and his dancing is powerful and beautiful.

I love Lee's dance know he can do any dance and doesn't look tired on stage doesn't do exaggerated movements or exaggerated facial expressions In my opinion Lee know is the best dancer in the group because he favors the synchronization of the group the others prefer to shine alone but he does it in a group

When you were explaining about the muscle strength, it made me think how much Minho has improved when it comes to singing while dancing. When he just debuted, he was pretty stable but there were times he sounded very out of breath but nowadays he sounds stable almost at all times, I'm guessing because he has mastered the ways to conserve energy? You know how vigorous Maniac choreo is for his part but for some reason he managed to still sing it through without hitches. And he always makes his dance looks effortless, I always wonder how did he manage to do that. I kinda wanna to compare it to Hyunjin (no hate to him, both of them are my faves in SKZ, like, literally HyunHo are my biases) who arguably is more showy when it comes to his performance. It does make me focused on him a lot more at the beginning but it also makes me notice on one thing during performance. He tends to look like he's running out of energy towards the end of the song and he sometimes sound very out of breath. Now that I heard an explanation from someone who understands dancing, I guess this makes sense, huh. Fascinating.
