To answer your question about if they hate listening to their own voice, I remember Han talked abt how he normally doesnt like listening to his, but since he is one of the producers of the group he had to learn how to stop that feeling and focus on monitoring, he also said that it also helps in improving his vocals and more, but yes, at first he hated ittt. With Chan im not sure if he doesnt like his voice, but he is 100% more critical when he is monitoring himself.

Modal voice is another way of saying like chest voice. Like how they belt it instead of using falsetto. Basically, you defined it without knowing lol.

Hi! You were wondering at some point near the half hour if they hate their own voice and unfortunately some do, specially Chan. I don't think he hates it, he's a siger after all but he definitely does not like it. There are even fan videos about his self criticism and one of the recurring clips is when they're reacting to their new songs or MVs and when his part comes you can clearly see his face change from a cheerful smile and pride when it's the other members' turn to a serious critical frown when his part comes. It's sad that he sometimes can't fully see his own value. Han is also very self aware of his, specially when he's recording
