My brother found a small naked puppy. My Mom thought he had mange, but my brother insisted on keeping him. When we took him to the vet we found out that he was a pure bred Hairless Chinese Crested! We had that dog for 17 years! He passed away from cancer on Saturday. He passed at home and we all held him in his final moments. We still have no explanation of how such an expensive puppy ended up on the streets alone, but we are forever grateful that he walked up to my brother, and that my brother didn’t turn him away just because he looked odd.

I think strays smell another animal lives there so why not me as well? ... we had a stray cat run straight upstairs and just lay under a bed. I shooed him, didn't take much, but he got the message and just went. I felt bad about everything about this incident but we couldn't accept another cat.

Same way I got my most recent dog, I was visiting my horses and we saw this golden retriever that didn’t look so good. My mom decided we weren’t going to take him but he jumped in the car and now he lives with us.

My favorite dog in the whole world did that to my parents, when they were going home from our cabin in the Blue Ridge. He stood in the road, and jumped in the car when they stopped to see what he wanted. Poor little guy was thin, just about hairless, and very, very grateful. With a couple of months of good food, vet care, and love, he grew hair and revealed a really sweet temperament. He lived a long, happy life, I'm delighted to say.

God bless this family for not immediately taking him to the nearest dog shelter, where they don't have the resources, are often overcrowded, and also euthanize healthy animals every day. They actually really rescued him and gave him love and a family. He is adorable!

Thank you for not chasing him away❤ he smelled love in your home a mile away. He found his forever home with a beautiful family. Thank you for saving his life! God bless you and your entire family. 🙏

It's possible he had a family at one point who took him for rides occasionally. Then something went wrong and they took him out of the car and left him behind. Maybe this car was similar to theirs and he hopped in, hoping to be taken home. And he was right. This nice lady took him home. And he was never left behind again.
