This tutorial is a life saver. Simple and straight to the point! I was familiar with strapi v3 (last year) and was just getting back to it recently and was crushed to find out that a lot of things had changed in v4. Thanks for this.

Great tutorial, loved it! I have built a lot of rest api for my projects. strapi does so much heavy lifting that it almost feels like I am cheating! 😁. I have a few problems: 1. populate does not work for user collection 2. cannot specify exact properties to be returned from populated fields. The entire field gets returned. 3. cannot make relational fields required. The api doesn't care if I put the relational field or not when creating a new document.

Can you also do tutorials on the overriding of controllers and routes? Also for creating new routes and controllers because the docs is good, I'm not gonna lie. But the thing is, I have done and read the section "creating custom routes" and when I run my build it always says that that route is undefined :)

Any idea on how to customize the pages as a whole in the new version? In v3 this was easily accomplished by creating new files in a ./admin/src folder with the same path/filenames but this doesn't appear to work now. The Admin Panel API is fine for minor injections but this isnt really sufficient for major changes.

I don't think there is any other way to handle this other thn manual customization, tho Strapi provides super commands to handle the same functionality of controller with just one line, which makes it easy but still much manual customization is required
