I wish we had/will get a Hotels/BnB pack. I'd love to be able to run a hotel, you could start off as a BnB and get money til you build or buy your own hotel, with a star rating system so the happier the sims are when they stay and more facilities you have the bigger your stars are and the higher your ratings are. Eg, if youre a BnB you can only have max 9 other sims in your house lot like roomates, and close off their rooms with a special locking system. If your lot is residential/bnb you can set doors as guest rooms and the nicer beds thats there, cleaner the room is, and the nicer breakfast they have, the higher score your rating gets. The decor also makes a difference in their score and each guest gives you a little review based on their stay. Can either be native or positive. Maybe if you have Hotels, you can have special Celebrity doors and 3 tier suites. So basic suite, exquisite suite and bridal/presidential/queen suite that is more expensive so it needs to have a bed of £XXX simoleons or above to be considered luxury. You could even mix packs like dine out and spa day could work so well with it and if your hotel has a restaurant rather than a self serve station (that should come with the pack so sims can feed themselves you just need to restock and clean it twice a day for hotels and once a day for b&bs, this costs money and depending on your sims chef level depends on the food tjat goes out. Eg a la carte stuff if you have gourmet cooking 10, baked goods if your baking is high or if your cooking is bad its all cereal and microwave stuff) they'll use the restaurant and the addition of a restaurant or a spa gives you more stars. If your hotel has a pool 10x4 squares wide minimum you get another star etc. Like a 10 star hotel needs at least: separate celebrity rooms if you have get famous, at least 1 of each type of room so normal, luxury and top dog amazing/penthouse style, needs great food, a swimming pool, a bar (could be a good pack to add a pool bar, pool slide and other neat resorty stuff) good decor and the cleanliness is top notch too. Adding the challenge of keeping the place clean means theres an ACTUAL need for the vacuum kit pack thats not a gimmick and you can either hire a team of maids or have the household go round cleaning all the rooms themselves to save money. You could if your sim has enough money, cheat by hiring caterers and stuff so they'll already have excellent facilities. You could even get reputations for your hotel, based on yournlot traits. like if you set it as on ley lane, people use it for woohoo more often and your hotel gets a reputation for being either a sleezy joint for people to woohoo (depends on negative reviews) OR a romantic hotel for lovers to get away (good reviews). Getting negative reviews mean sims are less likely to book your place, or sims that come are more likely to steal things from the rooms and not pay when they leave. If you catch them, maybe as security,you can get the items back but if you don't notice they can make off with a lot of things. I've thought about this type of pack A LOT ahaha

I also built a motel, and as a rental it's ridiculously expensive cause of all the rooms and objects it has 😂 I'm planning on just making it a residential lot and inviting roommates

This looks so like a dodgy roadside motel. You really nailed it. I wish we could have functional motels in this game. I love the pool area too. Strangerville definitely needed more things to do once you finish the story.

Strangerville might be my favorite world - it's so unique. Idk that they needed "more things to do" since most of the worlds are open and not really limited by a storyline? But I get what you're saying. I just think that we can make the "more things to do" ourselves! Ya know? Or I'm just babbling because I had too much coffee. :)

I can imagine mulder and skully coming here to investigate strangerville. Or Sam and Dean using the diner and staying here. This is such a great build and It makes me interested to use the storyline.

This motel plays so well with the restaurant setup! My sim has been "staying" there for about a sim week now and it is really lively, plus the diner staff clean up the dishes around the motel, it feels really immersive to hang out there! All I did for a bit of privacy was use the club door perk to make the door lockable for my sim and it all works like a charm.

I don’t play in strangerville a lot but now I will definitely be adding this lot to my game. I love the vibes and making it a diner as well is so genius for this area.

I feel like generic hotel items would make sense because you can use the extant items to theme the hotel - which you'd probably want to do anyway doing hotels in different areas. I'd also love it if you could customize staff uniforms/room service food like you can in Dine Out.

I believe that the zig zag pattern in parking lots is to block off space for the ramp on wheelchair accessible vehicles!

Have been so excited to see Strangerville finished off, I know it’s kinda unpopular but it’s one of my favorite worlds, love the build!!!

If we had a gumball machine it would’ve been perfect for the diner’s vestibule. Also if they re-realesed Strangerville like spa day it would be really cool if they added a motel lot type so your sim could stay at the motel when they’re at strangerville. Like it would work like a rental lot but it would look like the lots from eco lifestyle.

You should totally have a gas station (debug) that doubles as a diner! Love this build tho. Can't wait to get this new version of the world...gotta add the new SPA stuff tho ;)

Strangerville is honestly my fave world after Windernburg. Also the houses by the canyon have the best views in the entire sims 4 worlds not even up for discussion!

Commenting on a 2 year old vid... yeah... Started a Strangerville playthrough last night, so I had to hunt this build (and vid) down. When I was a kid in the early '90s, I used to do a yearly cross-country road trip from LA to Dallas to visit my grandparents, and this build reminds me SO MUCH of the motel we'd stay at in New Mexico. The retro layout, the parking lot, the pool I was absolutely NOT allowed to swim in, and the diner right next door... With this bringing up memories like that, of COURSE I need it in my build.

Strangerville is actually my favorite world and I have all my four families living there. I'm a fan of the red sand :D

Your way of building and decorating is very different among all Sim builders in KZread and it's so great, I hope you know that.

I am in awe! I NEVER watch community lot speed builds because they don't usually inspire me to play the game like family homes BUT I'm a hotel manager in real life so this caught my attention. I have to say I am blown away by how many different storylines you can play out. I cannot wait to get my hands on that diner and I love the tip about living elsewhere officially but spending all your time at this lot. I think I'll have a household of a bunch of random Sims visiting StrangerVille for different reasons and play out their dramas.. Probably my favorite SimLicy build and that's saying something :)

If only EA had those eerie flickering lights in-game….I think they really woulda suited this build! Also, this could serve as a really good hideout spot for criminal sims or maybe as a club hangout, too!

It has been 6 months and this is still by far my favorite build from a simmer! From the concept to the execution! 10/10 perfect for this lot!

This is such a cute idea for a build in this town. Especially, since it's a bit limited in it's "town center" scenery and trailer area. Of course, now I wish there were a few more lots in that area, too.

The slashed off areas in parking are usually for handicapped spots, to allow for room for wheelchair ramps

Love your hotel builds! This was very cute. I hope we do get a resort/hotel style Game Pack or Expansion Pack sometime in the near future. I feel like it was definitely a missed opportunity with Island Living.

Yes, I'd really love an opportunity to run a hotel. I'd like more... operational items, if that makes sense. Like better front desks, food cart, cash register, etc.

okay I love these types of builds! they bring so much more content to one lot! I also am now motivated to finish the current "gameplay" challenges i have going on and want to do a rags to riches type story line with this lot!

Love the retro look of the diner, my favorite addon for the sims 3, was the Roaring Heights town, that included clothing, hair and furniture with a 20s to 50s style, would be nice to find a town like that or similar.

This is such a creative and realistic build, I love it! I’m already playing with your save file (which I love so freaking much, btw) and I have a few storylines going on, so l’ll have to update the worlds by adding the lots, but I can’t wait to add this lot! I’m excited to create a low budget family trip storyline with my legacy family by using this lot! Thanks for sharing such amazing, interesting builds!

To make this functional, probably put it in student dorm lot and swap out the restaurant items with the canteen counter. Unless Get To Work pack gets a refresh and make the Front Desk working in ALL non-residential lots, the reception area is just decor.

I love this motel idea for Strangerville! I actually snatched this up before the video came out. I couldn’t wait! I think a good option to explore with the new Spa Day refresh would be maybe like a Pamper and Polish salon in Del Sol Valley or something? Add the massage tables, multiple chairs for manicures and pedicures, and maybe a couple of those styling stations from Get Famous. That could be kind of fun!

This fits strangerville so well. Love the build and especially the diner... it has a bit of a retro feeling to it. By the way those eco trash cans could actually fit san myshuno as well, since it is a big city and it feels industrial.

So I feel like the mod we need is “lot inside of lot”. So then you could actually have some live inside the restaurant and motel. They’d be residential but they’d also be functional as a restaurant and hotel. I wish I knew how to do that.

This is such a great build! I'll be sticking it in my game when For Rent comes out. It's perfect with the little kitchenette! My dad used to stay in hotel rooms like that (much nicer tho) when he was out of state on jobs (construction foreman). I wanted to say my Sim got a job in Strangerville, but couldn't find a place to live fast enough, so this is a perfect spot for him to crash in the meantime! Thank you so much for building/sharing this. I'm sad to lose the diner functionality but looking forward to converting it for For Rent!

Thank you. I've been wanting to build a motel and diner in my current save in the Sims 3. This is perfect. Now i have to decide if I want the motel functional or not. Bc i would love for them to be on the same lot but if I make it a resort type lot then Sims can't use the diner unless they're checked in. Great job though. I can't wait to rebuild it. Don't worry, i don't plan to share it.
